So are we still looking at a 1.2 release this week? Haven't seen any chatter about this. Maybe I missed an update.

IMO your second approach is the best one. I wouldn't get hung up on the faction ratings shown on the screen. I don't think that I have had game where I wasn't one of the last 1 or 2 factions in the ratings list in the first part of the game. As you beat back a couple of a rival faction's armies and take a city or two those ratings change quickly. FWIW I play on Challenging difficulty and can't speak for effective strategies beyond that difficulty se
It is my understanding that if you already have a game started with a previous version you need to start a new game after patching to the new version. I could be wrong but everytime a patch comes out I just delete my old saves and start fresh. Not sure exactly if you patch and load a save game from a previous version if the new changes will be in effect for that game. EDIT: In regards to relmich's question[/qu
will the changes be compatible with existing save games?
The game just released. Looks like it is getting pretty good reviews. I pre-ordered on steam, but I am in the midst of a move and the gaming PC is not accessible so I can't play for a week yet. Anyone here play it yet?....what are your initial impressions?
Yes...I see. That is exactly what is happening. I forced my way through the stall be researching a tech to boost food per grain. This should be fixed as per Heavenfall's post...as a new player running into this will think the game is broke
I will look at the actual numbers a little closer, but I must have gone 5-6 turns without seeing that city get it's 1 pop remaining. For some reason it seems stuck right now. Thought I would post this as a possible bug (seems like a rare one though).
I have a city that has 1 food remaining and is 1 food away from growing, but turn after turn it does not grow. I can't figure out why...it must be a bug. Attached is the save file and screen shot. https://dl.dropbox.com/u/59194037/drago981v2_bug.EleSav <img style="float: left;" src="https://dl.dropbox.com/u/59194037/FallenEnchantress_1349126061.jpg" alt="ci
I don't have a screen shot handy at this time, but I noticed the health bars failing to update as well. This actually lead to the death of one of my units that I thought was a whole lot healthier than he really was.
Agreed...love when the change logs come out, but now I will have a hard time finishing the game I have going right now.
Tactical AI significantly improved (lots of new APIs to determine behavior) . . . . Slight improvement to tactical AI
Huh? Well which is it? lol
Great info here. I tried to do something similar in one of my play-throughs but I can't seem to reveal the map and what the AI is up to. I thought it was just ALT+U. I hit this and it does nothing. Am I doing something wrong?
I am pretty sure there is a tech you research in order to start getting henchmen. Can't remember exactly as that was a few games ago.
Yes it can be quite fun to run around with a beast army, but it is difficult to use that spell at times. I think that if the range of the spell is to stay at 1, than the casting time should be instant rather than 1 round. Personally I would like to see the range of the spell move to 2 or 3 with the casting time remaining at 1.
After loading the save file and ending the turn the game crashes to desktop. I was able to repeat this 3 times straight. It should be noted that this is the first crash I have encountered in 0.95 and I am at turn 290. Best stability in Beta so far for me. https://dl.dropbox.com/u/59194037/FallenEnchantress0_95-2012-08-23T14-34-07-927.zip
I have established kingdom basically surrounding a wildlands. In the last few turns Vetrar, Guardian of the World's End, has decided to leave the wildlands boundary and wander around my area. Not a big deal except that I need to avoid him like the plague currently. Is this supposed to happen?
I always though it was Ceresa that was deemed as The Fallen Enchantress. In all the promo releases it seems to look a lot like her..no?
Sorry. I have a hard time realizing there is a world outside of my North American bubble. [e digicons]o_O[/e]
Well if I recall correctly, the previous BETA updates and new releases were typically posted anywhere from 3:00pm EST to 8:00pm EST. My guess is that this thing is ready to go by 4:00pm EST that would be 1:00pm PST for you west coasters.
I would suggest getting the game. It is a lot of fun in its current state, especially with the diplomacy tweaks and heroes additions. The AI is adequate. It will challenge you at times, but with any TBS game you will eventually learn how the AI reacts and plan accordingly. The game has currently implemented a multiplayer (BETA) which I haven't tried yet, but that may interest you as well.
Yes...Steam is kinda sneaky about updates. There is that bottom line of the window that shows something is downloading...and even then it isn't entirely clear what the patch includes unless there is a post in the news about it. Most times I find myself booting up the game to see what the update was.
I agree the changes are really nice. I particularly like the lords and artifact additions. However, they might be glass cannons since I keep getting them killed...but maybe that is just me being too aggressive with them. The diplomacy changes are nice, but the AI still seems manic about declaring war & offering peace. In one game an AI declared war and brokered a peace treaty 3 times in a span of about 15 turns. &
Very nice. Where is that? Is that Grand Traverse Bay?
I second this request....
I agree. The AI is probably just taking advantage of this ability to stack enchantments. Now there are mana upkeep costs, and you would need a healthy mana income to keep those enchantments up....but still I don't think it should be allowed to stack the same enchantment so many times. At the very least the mana upkeep should be compounded exponentially per enchantment.
