I was wondering why my experience with Elemental was so different than the one described. It's never crashed for me, I've played it for hours on end, the tactical combat is very MoM-esque and it lives up to what I was expecting. I don't buy games at a store anymore, so maybe it's the boxed version that's problematic.

Bang on. Mines need to be cleared much easier, and a 50-60 limit is entirely reasonable. -- Starbases; you're pretty bang on there too. I like the strategic choices available, the costs seem wonky. I agree that more range isn't going to "fix" the perceived issues with them, although I do believe that they need to have enough range to acceptably deal with a mass of LRM's...

Maybe give them 3 hp then so the scouts can destroy them, and have the AI automatically do this... Cap ships and flak to toast mines would be nice too. I like your other comments, very in line with the spirit of what I was thinking.

I agree, the TEC minefields are much more fair, although there still needs to be some sort of limit. Once they drop 1000 mines into a system, it's still pretty lame.

Alright, so, mines. Ridiculous at the moment. A few things need to be done. Here are some suggestions (they probably don't all work together. Mix and match, great tastes that can taste great together!) 1) Limit mines to XX per gravity well. Say 20, 50 tops? Something. Advent dropping 1000 homing mines into a system is uncool. 2) Need some sort of minesweeper ship (or ability for scouts, beyond "decloaking")

I'd like to see a "defense" section in both the civilian and military trees. So they can draw in dependencies like they did before, and have the "civic" style upgrades require the non-weapons labs. Feels odd, as Advent, researching culture generation stuff in your weapons labs...

for 1800 credits, a bunch of metal, and a bunch of crystal, you can upgrade a Starbase to have a Hanger bay that's worse than the one you can build. Sure, it takes up no tactical slots, but it's still really gimp. Maybe if it had double the squadrons it'd be nice. As it stands, you'd be much better off grabbing other upgrades.

First things first, I think the interface to control the minions needs to be much... much... better. I've accidently moved my General in to attack when I really just wanted my minions to attack. I can't easily get them back to "escourt" mode (which they default too). None of the standard RTS controls work correctly (ctrl-click, shift-click). They essentially play like Assassins with pets. If it's easy to make mistakes, then the interface is wrong.

I had one with 317 and the other 422 as well, XP & Vista (don't know if that was the reason????)

I'm a Lord Erebus player (largely)... he's just too awesome. I pretty much ignore the Citadel at the moment. A lot of the upgrades there just give the other guy more XP, and Lord Erebus lvl 2 Mist eats bad guys regardless of how "uber" they are. With Lord Erebus I grab the monk idol first, walk around killing stuff, leveling, then get some mana-regen, and then some +HP and health regen. Once that's all taken care-of, I typically have bat-port, bit, mist lvl 2, an

Weak, yes. But not *gimp* like he is now. You need to be lvl 15 before Torchbearer is really good. The way it is now, you'll lose to Erebus well before then. (oooo look, big mass of guys I can't effectively AoE until I get my Nova skills at lvl 2)
quoting post Bite is fine (I think?) No, unfortunately, it's not. Too short of a cooldown, too powerful when you consider that it's not just plain damage, but also healing and incredible secondary effects.
I hadn't been using it until this morning, and yes, it's amazing too. 1) Bat Port in 2) Bite 3) Lvl 2 Mist 4) Bite 5) Bat Port to ch

Mist is amazing, get some +HP items and have teh fun. When you've got 8000 hp and batport in before they know what's going on....

People are saying he's the worst? That's just crazy talk. Maybe they don't want him to be nerfed! LOL. He is, by far, the easiest demigod to win out of the whole bunch, the only one I haven't played this release is Unclean Beast (but I played him a tonne last release). Lets put it this way. This release is to Vampire Lord as Beta 1 was to Unclean Beast.

Minotaur, Gunner, and Priest Minions... Buying the priest totem at the begining of the match is unbalanced. Walking around with healing early on is ridiculous. --- Minion Interface needs all the standard RTS controls. Shift-Click to add a dude. Ctrl-Click- to bind that selection to a key. --- Vampire Lord abilities are waaaay overpowered. Try this 1) Summon priests 2) Bat-port into mass of badguys (incl

As ZeratulTheDT said, right now, both Ice and Ice & Fire are lame, and even Fire needs help. I think the general balance issue that's making this tough to gage for me is the Generals. They are OP. They have strong combat abilities on-par with assassins, and an amazing amount of minions. Generals should be gimpier and be able to stay further from the action (right now, the interface is such that my General ends up in the front

Torchbearer is one of my favorite characters, I just love the concept of the guy. I was maxing him out on the ice side, and found it generally quite weak now that the generals and citidal upgrades are in the game. He can't cast enough ice spells to control the field like he used to be able to. The ice-side is now a one shot glass cannon until he hits higher levels. He basically can cast one spell, and that's it in the early game. Compare this to everyone else w
