Hi, this might be a noobish question but i was wondering if the AI diplomacy is working as intended, ive played several games with differing setups and victory conditions, all with unlocked teams yet i have never recieved any missions from the AI players, and i cannot form cease fires etc with them regardless how high my rep with them goes? im not sure if im doing something wrong, it happened to me in Beta so i thought maybe it hadnt been implemented or something but its still doing it to me

As a long time pen and paper roleplayer, i always create a character to be fun, usually giving them at least one flaw. to me its more about the epic story of a map than "winning or losing", id love to see the ability to label locations on the cloth map so you can really make a believeable play world.
I tried playing with the City zoom mode on, but i found it altered my perspective too much, i found it easier just to place the building in my normal view mode since i like to do lots of camera rotation and cinematic views in my games.
Rofls! look out real world, just dont stare at the sun, the HDR on that thing is enormously overdone.
you guys are awesome! the players of your awesome games really do appreciate all the hard work you guys put in. To alot of us, games represent our chief form of entertainment and relaxation and really improve our lives when we come home from work or have a rough day, and to me, despite the unforseen bugs and what not (and lets face it what games arent riddled with em now cuz of the complex and different types of hardware and software available) Elemental is a fantastic game and being a big tu
im running an AMD Phenom chip as well and i have the same issue, its not a processor brand thing i dont think.
at this point im actually considering doin a complete system wipe to see if a fresh install will fix the problem :S there has to be something causing the issues, i couldnt even start the game initially without uninstalling ATI Tray Tools.
haha yeh this thread goes really slow as well lol its funny cuz its like its being affected by the same thing as the game, but yeh i get the same problem, massive slowdown around cities to pretty much unplayable levels even when the graphics is set to absolute minimum, running AMD Phenom 8450 Triple-Core and ATI HD4870 with the 10.7 catalyst drivers on Windows XP 32bit
I dont know if it will help but Elemental wasnt starting for me, i.e. black screen then return to desktop, turned out i had to uninstall ATI tray tools :S dont know why that was a problem but if anyone has it installed and Elemental isnt running, try uninstalling ATT
when im playing as vasari i get a similar problem, for no apparent reason most of the special fx will switch off spontaneously, you can hear the ships firing but theres no graphics and when ships explode they just dissapear into their debris model with no expplosion (it only seems to happen when playing vasari so far, never had it happen as TEC and i havnt played Advent yet) sometimes they switch spontatneously back on again but i have no idea what causes this, my machine handles the game fi
lol!...erm...I'd miss my kangaroos too much
Just thought I'd post to see if I could attract some Aussie players, I know you're out there  Cuz us Aussies seem to have some ping problems connecting to US and EU players, I was wondering if any Aussie players of sins out there would like to introduce them selves and maybe we could look at setting up a game or two, maybe a continuing game or something. Obviously Sins hasnt been released Retail in Australia yet but theres more than a few players out there and it can be hard to de
Thats a very valid point, It would be nice if we could get the exact info on how those building stats work and stack, i believe there have been similar suggestions over the lack of info on what exactly the ship and building upgrades are doing (i.e. not showing how much extra damage a ship is causing due to upgrades) It sounds like a fairly simplistic thing for the Devs to add and I'm sure it's on their list of "to do's" :)
lol, i tried using the random map generator to make a custom 4 player map, i dont know what slider i accidently messed up but we all started out with 2 planets all connected to a central sun...problem was the phase lane to the sun was so long it took about 15 minutes for a fleet to traverse it. Suffice to say i surrendered pretty quick :p
It's the Langoliers I tell you, Stephen king set them loose and now theyre eating time!
Yeh Ironclad and stardock have done one helluva game. It's so polished and just damn fun. one thing i have to stress and havn't seen it anywhere on the forums (atleast to my lazy eyes). Someone deffinitely knows their space opera, theyve nailed it perfectly and the poin i want to stress is the MUSIC! holy crap, its not just great space opera music but they nailed the mood music system perfectly, from the built up ominous music of a fleet powering their phase drives to the orchestral boom whe
