I have played several games now, various settings factions and heroes. While I agree that this is a much better game and have enjoyed it so far, there are many suggestions that I have to offer. I also would like to point out another similar game to use for some ideas if it has not already. Most point to MoM, HoMM and Age of Wonders. I would add Dominions 3 to that list as well, there was a lot put into that game, and some things that can be used

Hello, I apologize that I could not post this earlier when I had the exact spell name. When a Troll Shaman cast a spell (Dark Thorns I think), it takes a very long time and sometimes requires putting the battle into auto mode before it will finish the casting. Sorry for the vauge report.

Nothing particular triggered it. I hope I have the right file, please let me know if not. I did a search and nothing came up with a name even close to what was suggested in the FAQ, the is the only thing that looked close.
