After reading this thread I almost feel compelled installing Civ4 again =) The only thing that is stopping me is upcoming Civ5.
I think all of these people (Brad, Soren, the guy doing AI for AI war, and the guy doing AI for Civ5) would have lovely lovely talks. With their powers combined... all hail our robot overlords!
Btw, AI War has very different AI in the respect that it is totally asymmetric. In EWOM (at least on the surface) the goal is that both human and AI play the same game with the same rules. In AI Wars AI plays by rules that are nothing like
I'm sorry if this is off topic in Elemental forum, but with Brad posting a great deal on Elemental AI, I feel that it's is related. A great presentation on AI http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IJcuQQ1eWWI from the Civ4 designer. I wonder what would be Brad's opinion on the points touched in the presentation. What kind of AI is Elemental AI compared to Civ4 AI? What are common? What are differences? What are the game differe
Did you happen to start the game before version 1.06 and then continue after updating to 1.06? If so, save the game to a new save file, and load that new file. That is the workaround, although it may not work.
Oh, this is good. Yes, started happening to me when I put one of the units on auto-explore but I didn't realize that. Thank you, and hope SD fixes this soon.
This is the crash damp when I alt-tabbed from the game and then tried to alt-tab back. Happened once only. A error message about DX call something was also displayed, I'm not sure which one of the two crash damps is the right one so I'm posting both. http://db.tt/0h5dYmQ Thanks, Andrew
the Toggle City HUD button in the top right of the game window shows or hides the HUD above cities on the map. it sounds like you were expecting it to hide something else?
Yes, sorry about that. But the previous poster has a point.
Ok I'll try again when I'm home.
I haven't played much (if at all) in beta, but I do agree that certain fonts are a pain to read in game. Especially bad is the font on the hero / unit card. I'm playing with the same resolution as you.
Open hiergamenon. Hit ESC, say, 5 times. Close hiergamenon. You will see the option menu. Now you will have to close it 5 times (the same number of times you clicked ESC while hiergamenon was opened) to make it disappear.
If you start a game (say a campaign) and either hit U or click HUD icon in top right corner of the screen the HUD does not disappear and/or toggle.
