Blank as in it's receiving no input at all from the looks of it. I've hit ctrl-alt-delete and the like but the machine is completely unresponsive.

Forgot to mention that bit. I saw that recommended to someone before so I've had it unchecked for a while, but I've never gotten the blue screen on restart. Most of the time what happens is the screen goes blank (not black) and I end up having to hit the reset button on the computer to get it to start up again. At that point I do get the "your computer was not shut down properly message" and the comp checks itself for errors. But I don't get the recovered from serious error message afterward

I've been having troubles with the game crashing at random times for a while now, at random places my whole computer will completely crash or restart. I've followed a number of the suggestions on here including getting a temperature reader for my motherboard but haven't seen anything, thanks in advance for the help.
