Hi all. I created a custom hero with the Quest Map feature, and as the number of quests in the area around my city decreased, started to make use of the feature. Although not a bug, I was disappointed that all three times I used a purchased Quest Map, the flavor text and format of the quest was the same--Wildings had attacked an inn, and it was up to me to save those carried off by taking on the Wildings. Anyway, each time I defeated the W

Agreed. Elemental is not perfect, but I have reasonable expectations that Stardock will improve the game. Perhaps Brad should have released the game in February instead of August, but I recall that, for, example, Civ IV out of the gate was a complete and utter mess.

Being a wizard and all you need not be in the same tile to procreate. Ah the old "A Wizard did it" excuse. "Wait a second I was away for 5 years why do we have 3 children now?" "Ummm Magic?" I've downloaded the game just before work...but have not (yet) have had a chance to play. Are there apparent issues, bugs and concerns? Sure. However, I have confidence in Stardock working through these. Yes. They stand by their products. They improve their products. And any software not made for an closed system (
Quoting nOObonian, reply 1After saving the game and trying a few combinations out, I figured it out. You need to get to weapons, Archery, and Armor. (The Armor was my problem). BUT how do you make a group of archers, say 6 or so? I think the research for that is called "squads" or something like that. It's in the Warfare line. When you go to train units, you can pick how many you want in the group once you have the tech unlocke
One of the things that eventually had me dislike Disciples was the same thing, Fading_Suns. The maps were puzzles more than they were places to explore and conquer. You had to follow the map in a certain way, or else your chances of success were minimal at best. It felt artificial.
I already made that suggestion, but they choose to ignore and keep ranting. Makes me wonder if it is really such a huge issue with them.
I think it comes down to, having read this insanely long thread too much, is the idea that some people want to be able to spawn a sheaf of copies of Elemental on their LAN and have everyone play in MP, using the one activated copy. </
Now I want to create a Channeler named "Captain Hammer". (Dr. Horrible fans should get the joke)!
I trust Stardock with my hard-won gaming dollars (GalCiv, Sins) and have not been disappointed. And as pointed upstream, Stardock goes the extra mile (hell, extra parsec) to make the games a good experience. And they love turn based (or slow RTS) games that have a strong SP focus and replayability. How can you say no to THAT?
Well, that sounds like I s
Thanks for That post, its looking and sounding great,I now know why you guys are so proud of this game and why i am so excited to get it next week boy am i for psyched for this game

Fun story. If you could get more attention to these writeups, might draw in new purchasers.
Well, sounds like I should tweet about this post then..
I live with my friends (long story, not germane to discussion). We own three copies of Civilization IV, one for each PC, and often play against each other on the LAN. If we want to do the same for Elemental, we should do the same. I have a pre-order, so we will have at least one copy in house--mine. In order for me to get them to play against me, I just need to convince them to get copies of their own, probably via let
Besides which, Stardock is only now wrapping up the 2.0 update for GalCiv2. Give them a break, man! There's no way they'd go straight to work on GC3 already. Indeed, Brad himself has said on numerous occasions that the next GalCiv game is at least three years away -- probably later.
Exactly. Diversity is a good thing and makes for happy programmers and computer game company owners. Brad has been thinking about this fantasy game for a long time.
