I doubt the float is an absolute "from sea level to highest point" height. Maybe something incremental for the engine to render later. Tiles that are counted as "submerged" are rendered as part of mountain ranges because adjacent squares are tall enough.

Not wanting to derail the thread, but does anything pick anything thats not "+gildar bonus" when your towns level up? The other 3 options just aren't appealing enough imo.
Your too close to one of your own cities i belive. Move some spaces away and you should be able to create the city.

I'm able to get several copies of the same building on a settlement. Using 1.01 version, when picking the building spot, if one clicks multiple times, your able to deploy several copies of the same building (you can get several arcane laboratories on the same settlement per example).
Factions AI is currently on the weaklish side, but the wilderness creeps are amazing, even the random bandits with a wolf ground provide a good challenge.
Agreed. Day 0 AI will only be activated in todays patch, so, i think that might be it.

Yep, it works, mipmap to 1 is a workaround for this issue.
Same problem: Game will hang at map creation, no disc activity. Upon alt tabbing we get the "start of game" dialog, a blank map with the sovereign, and at town creation or end of turn the screen starts to flicker and the game freezes.
