Will sound problem affect gameplay? in Bug Reports GalCiv2 Forums

Basically my dilemma is that i want to buy the game, but i dunno if it will work on my comp. Before you go refer me to stuff, let me explain my situation. my computer fits the min requirements. Like, everything would work on the computer if i installed it i'm pretty sure. But, the thing is, my computer doesn't have sound. By saying that i mean that all the components of sound are there, but the computer doesn't recognize a device for sound. This is a personal computer problem i know, don't know
