I am sure those few thousands people in the world who will be rich enough to afford such treatment by the time it goes out of prototype stage will really appreciate it.
I watched the video and failed to see a single thing that could be called impressive, just a bunch of skeletons primitively chasing the player character, and one clumsy giant. The tech demo looks like Aurora engine mod. Emergent monster conflicts, like "leading one type of monsters to fight anothe type" was present even in primitive shooters from 90s like Doom, etc. (when they shot each other, they fought), or Strife, which was actually an impressive game for the time.
I think I covered it quite eloquently in reply #2 ....
Indeed, you boast your lack of knowledge with admirable pride. I find it characteristic for certain kind of people - they always blurt out the "right" answer as a dogma and they consider arguing it is below them - after all, "it's clear" to "us", isn't it? Now back to the original question. Is Linux a viable substitute for Windows?
I have been using Ubuntu for years for work, I have a Windows partition only for gaming. For a casual user, the GUI experience in Ubuntu is largely identical to that with Windows 7/XP. Plus it's free. There is really no reason why casual users should prefer Windows, other than crowd mentality. Of course, if you use specialized Win only software for work, that's another matter

Diablo 3 got 9.5 from IGN. Enough said.
It's a known issue, concerning not only mana, but also iron, gildar, and any other conceivable resources. Just like fiat money economies of today, the AI in LH can just go into negative numbers whenever necessary, getting the goodies now, and paying supposedly sometimes in the future... or never. No official comment on this yet.
The 2009 movie was an incoherent, nonsensial trollop full of brainless action and story that did not make any sense. Gone are the days where Star Trek was about promoting the idea of diplomacy over brute force, clever plot setups and charming characters. Now it's just explosions, more explosions, shaky-cam and retractable katanas. For the sake of my sanity, I am skipping this one.
On top of that, I have found out that the AI keeps buying (rushing) units and buildings - since it does not have to care about gildar, why not. That's what creates the problem of overdeveloped cites surrounded by swarms of units. The actual rules of the game (i.e. earning what you spend first) would never possibly allow an actual player to accumulate such assets in such a short time.
To OP - the cheating AI completely and absolutely breaks immersion for me. If you see the AI cheating constantly, what's the point of playing?
Since this is all speculation, I will just make a bet: There won't be another datadisk like LH for FE. There may be a small map/DLC pack, if the reviews and sales are good. I am willing to bet this rusty plate I have just found, together with three stone maces I found in a row.
Bug fixes Non-cheating AI (i.e. AI actually needing resources to build stuff) Ages old issues addressed (poor unit selection), overall balance improved
Star Control 2 was remade to the fantastic, open and free Ur Quan Masters, in case someone missed that one: http://sc2.sourceforge.net/
Quoting TheBirthdayParty, reply 2 Yeah I tried a version you're supposed to mount using daemon tools, but its not working. I tried using windows 7's compatibility mode for 95, 98, and 2000 without much luck. Have you tried to get it to work using a psx emulator? If so could you give me step by step instructions? Nevermind, I found a version I can play. : )
The versio
Hello, I am a long time Silent Hill ... connoisseur, I guess, so I can share some info with you. So far, I have played, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 to the end, and parts of the others. If you want to go chronologically, you really have to start with the first one, which may be a bit of a problem, since it's a PSX (that's right, Playstation 1) game, and here you have two options. If you own PS3 like me, you can buy a version that runs on PS3, but looks just like the o
Also, to clarify some of my replies - if there is a thread about the AI, and people ask "Does the AI cheat"? And people like you say "No, it does not cheat, absolutely not.", I feel the need to correct the statement, because it's a conscious misinformation (a.k.a. lie). The fact is the AI does not play according to the same rules as the player, which is the very definition of cheating. Similar to other topics: "Is LH clearly better than FE?" your response: "Yes, go ahead, it's

Some changes are improvements, others are regressions. Mixed bag, in my opinion, though with slighly positive outcome.
I can confirm I have similar problem, CoreI5 i3570K clocked to 4,4GHz, GTX670, 8GB Ram, so hardly a weak rig.
Yes, an expression of gratitude is appropriate, especially from us who got the game free/discounted.
I would say this is a controversial topic. While some of the changes are improvements, others feel like quickfixes that broke the overall balance of the game even more. Starting combat two steps apart - not so good sometimes. Hero skill trees are now predetermined, but some choices are clearly inferior (Potential), sometimes you must pick weak skills to get the good ones later, and the five specializations are imbalanced. Encumberance was removed, but som
Quoting cwg9, reply 6The important thing is that the AI can provide the player with an appropriate challenge to keep the game interesting, not that it be forced to play exactly the same way a human would.
Wow, I couldn't disagree more. There are few things, I so categorically disagree with, but this is one of them. Oh, my god. You completely miss the point. All points. If there are poin
AFAIK the AI cheats quite a bit, because it does not have to conform to the same set of rules as the player. For example, if you as a player want to build a unit requiring iron, you must have the iron to do so, or the unit cannot be trained. However, the AI can have a negative amount of iron and still keep on building iron-dependent units. Moreover, the AI can raze your cities instantly, while you have to spend turns doing the same to it. Lastly, the AI does not do quests like the player, it
