I'm a bit late to this thread, and broadly I think the information about production, economic icons is correct. My concern is with the graphics of the buidlings though - I just don't like them. They all seem a bit "un-futuristic" - the market looks like a medieval era one for example, the factories look like they're from the 1920s. I think ideally I'd like something that
Quoting Achronous, reply 41 It's good UI design I'd say. Makes you focus on the important parts. Sometimes, Form > Function This is one of those instances
I felt the need to return to this thread just to strongly agree with this statement! There are a few good space strategy games out there, but lots of them are heavily limited by
P.S - Having read through some of the comments above - I also lean in favour of separating the projects from the build queue - as in the picture. I'd actually meant to add that to my "likes" list.
I like: 1) The way the data is displayed below the panel, it's v understandable, clear and useful. Presumably there are tooltips on the traits, food production, approval, maintenance, manufacturing, research and wealth (so that it's clear how everything adds up)? 2) If the picture in the background relates to the planet you're looking at, I like it! Cheers! That podcast was awesome. I drifted in and out of it from 40 minutes onwards, and ended up staying up waaay later than I wanted to as a consequence. Am tempted to go back and listed to the first half hour or so now...!
Re: point 1), good call! Just wanted to chime in to add my agreement too. I don't mind the zig zag so much with smaller ships like the scout, but it looks a bit odd when the Survery Ship does it, and I think it's going to look really weird with massive battleships darting about all over the place... A gent over on the Steam boards mentioned the movement of naval vessels in Civ 5, so perhaps they can serve as a basic (starting) reference point for the movement of ships in GC3 t
Hi there, extremely long time since I've last posted, about 8 years I think, but I've been lurking (sounds a bit sinister) around the forums a fair bit over the years, and have been a huge fan of the franchise since I picked up a copy of Gal Civ 1 as a really random impulse purchase in a little independent game shop (long since closed) about a decade ago now! I totally missed the announcement of GC3 until very recently. Thankfully I came back and saw the announc

Not too fussed as is a fantastic game, but it would be good to get them sorted By the way my hardware/software config is.... geforce pcie 6800 Ultra, Athlon AMD 64 3500+, windows xp, european special edition copy of the game (nice case by the way!) and no drivers older than september, most (including the graphics card) a great deal younger. 1) can'
