Hi all Coming out of Forum hibernation to see if I can help with the Beta. Very impressed so far, got up to turn 25(ish) last night and covered the tutorial. The tutorial wasn't that good but the main game seems much improved. I did notice the camera wont stick if you turn it. So i can only ever have it at one angle, surely that's a bug? As has been mentioned before there is no edge scroll. Also, in the battles, the tool tip which

I know a game similar to that from ages ago. I think it was called Sci 5 Trader though i cant find anything online about it so that might not be the name. You had to select a crew, choose one of three destinations and then reach that destination with out being blown up. Was great fun for the time.

the_monk? Do you work for Ubisoft? Its just i have seen fanboys less dedicated to seeling a game than you. If you dont work for them, i would ask them for a wage ;)

Im not a big fan of Datapads either, mostly because the content of written text in games is usually garbage. (The exceptions i can think of being Bioforge, Morrowind and Baldurs Gate) In FPS i hate it. Im happily blapping the bad guys with bullets/plasma/ funny green balls of light merrily dancing around my ears when ... STOP! DATAPAD "Please read 5 pages of poorly written crap before continuing having fun." Now audio

Torment has been mentioned several times on this thread, including by me on the last page. The story to Torment was excellent i agree. I loved that game. Infact i might dig it out and play it again.

I may well pick up the books (that are translated into English) in that case. The story from the game blew me away considering the many games lacking stories these days.

Ive seen it but it looks a little too cute and cuddly for my tastes. Be interested to hear what you think of it.

Nope, we cant blame nostalgia on this one, just difference of opinion. I played it again only a few months ago and my opinion was not shaken. The combat was the most sophisticated hand to hand combat system of the time. All the number keys activated a different punch and if you switched them then they all activated a different kick. The moves varied in speed, strength and location so they were genuinly different. The story was phenominal IMO. Trapped on an asteroid wit

Hey all A long time ago when games were better and gamers were more mature a game named Bioforge was released (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BioForge) The story was beyond phenominal if you took the time to read the text. The game was fairly revolutionary for its time and the puzzles were interesting. Normally in games such as these the combat falls short but even the hand to hand combat was deep and fulfilling. I absolutely loved this game. Anyone else play it?

Guys, im an avid RPG fan (more so of the old school RPG's than newer ones but I am aware there are some new gems out there) and i have never played this game. I saw it released and somehow never got it. Can you let me know what games its like? What patches / mods to get to get full enjoyment from the game? Is the story and character customisation any good? etc?

I really want to play this game again. I tried it and had no idea what to do. I didnt really give it a fair chance so i might go back to it because, according to what i had heard, it had/has a lot of promise. Is there somewhere where i can get all resources from one place such as tutorial, game itself, graphics updates, patches, documentation, partidge in a pear tree, etc?

Its great. The first chapter begins the game a little slowly but a quarter of the way through chapter two things get interesting. I felt really involved in the story line. Yeah i only liked the OTS camera despite my general love of Isometric view. I just dont like timed clicking to hit enemies. I prefer to actually just click once to tell the protagonist where to attack and then concentrate on skills or what not but i think the flaw is minor compared to so many stengths.

Dont know if you have seen but it looks different in Fire Fox to IE. In ie its all small balls where as in Fire fox they get bigger as if they are coming towards you. Cool ey?
I finally picked this up, together with the four novels that the game is based on. Haven't had a chance to play yet, though, but the books are quite book. (Which probably accounts for the game's story quality.)
You will not be dissapointed. The story is well implemented (though i havent read the books) and the gameplay itself is deeply involving. Of course, its not perfect but the flaws are forgivable. I think there are a lot of good RPG's out there depending on what your after. The more modern RPGs tend to lack depth but there is some value to buying them. Baldurs Gate - This was a fantastic party based game with a rich story and very deep character customisation based on DnD rules. Baldurs gate 2 - This was superior to the 1st in every way. Graphically it is old but the game can keep you occupied for hours, days and months.

This game isnt even on its release version yet for crying out loud.Currently yes, you have bought a beta until you get the patch later today. If you wanted a refund you would have asked Stardock for one by email. Emailing the whole forum is just attention grabbing.

Does anyone know if you can update your sovereign's stat card with the equipment he is currently carrying? Otherwise the "holding sword" poses is pretty silly without at least starting with a club. And the bow positions would be no good as well.
I'm a college kid
This is very apparent. They hardly lied to you. They didnt promise you thats what you would have. I agree the random map is a bit of a disapointment as is the campaign but the sandbox game is a lot of fun and pretty much delivers on all of their projected features. It needs polish but, as has been mentioned, we havent even played the full version yet. Most of the games released nower d

Just for the record i used to be a big fan of Bioware. They consistantly made good games and i played almost all of them. I loved Baldurs gate. I really likes Knights of the old republic. I thought Jade Empire wasnt bad. I didnt really like Neverwinter nights. I thought Mass Effect was a good game for its genre, an RPG/Shooter hybrid. I thought, compared to what was promised, that Dragon Age was a monumental let down. Dumbed down levelling, standard story, lack

I have to say i havent found anything that too kme too long to figure out but i can see some things can be quite tricky to work out. I would say the best thing to do, until something better comes along, is to ask questions in the forum. Wait for answers and once you know what your doing, enjoy the game.
