Finally did the Distant Worlds Review: http://www.spacesector.com/blog/2011/02/distant-worlds-review/ I'm looking forward for your comments on this because I still have the feeling that I must be missing something due to the fact that some people found this game to be great. I simply don't get that. I've been playing Sci-fi strategy games for more than 2

After playing so much Civ5 I think it was time to make my review on my blog: http://www.spacesector.com/blog/2010/12/sid-meiers-civilization-5-review/ Feel free to criticise, correct or comment, specially on the section about the changes from Civ4 (what was removed and added, for sure there are many things I could not remember). I think I will not keep playing, I'll wait for the

@ BlindMindStudios Seen the tooltips for buildings, nice! Keep up polishing the game guys, and please give more information on Research. Expand the current tutorial with a few more entries to explain how links work and Research in general. I have a feeling that SR Research is great, its just poorly explained to the player.

Full-time development of Horizon started in 2001 and stopped in 2006 due to financial reasons. The game has been in alpha (playable but not feature complete) since 2006. Raffi plans to return to full-time development within the next 6 months and to continue working on getting all the features completed. They don't plan to release a public demo at this time.

You kinda like can say that the missions are like a campaign since you cannot jump scenarios, you have to start from the tutorial and then go from there. And yes, its basically "enemy has X ships, go get them" kind of style. Although some scenarios are special in the sense that due to spatial anomalies they disable shields, halve range or speed or limit the amount of modules, stuff like that.

Now the map its in hezagons, which means less two movement possibilites. And now there are no more stacks of units but single units por hexagon. One source of iron allows 1 swordsman unit, further sources of Iron allow the creation of one more unit. These are not minor modifications, I'm curious to see how they are going to pull this off.

The Civilization series is probably one of the best that PC Gaming has ever known. Ask any strategy gamer about it and the odds are that he has played at least one of the Civilization titles during his gaming life time, or at least a Sid Meier’s title (Railroad Tycoon, Alpha Centauri, Colonization, Pirates and many more). I invite you to read my Preview of Civilization 5 at SpaceSector.com: <a href="http://www.spacesector.com/blog/2010/03/sid-meiers-civilization-v-preview/"

I was aware of so many good reviews, 8.9@IGN, 9.0@Gamespot but somehow I found resistence to the game because I like more TBS 4x games than RTS. To my complete surprise (well only partial due to so many good reviews and the fact I love homeworld games) I really enjoy this game, and I'm currently playing it. And by the way, Entrenchment and Diplomacy are great expansions. I'm not biased by anybody, I really was surprised to discover such an amazing game. I criticise Gamespot's review t

I wrote my review of Sins of a Solar Empire (the complete package. Trinity): http://www.spacesector.com/blog/2010/02/sins-of-a-solar-empire-trinity-review/ Being a traditional 4x TBS fan at first I was skeptical about Sins, now I'm conviced that it is an excelent game. Enjoy! Adam Solo

Looks like Mike still has a lot of work ahead. He plans to reach Alpha next year and then endure one more year in Alpha. It's going to take him a few more years to release Supremacy. Maybe some more hands can help him speed up things a little. He's specially looking for people with interest and talent in graphics and music composition.

Star Trek Supremacy is a 4x space strategy game being developed by Mike Strobel. It is a Non-commercial Open Source project that will be made available for free to the public. The game is not licensed by the Star Trek franchise, it is a title being developed by an independent developer as an hobby. Supremacy picks up from the classic Microprose title<a title="Star Trek BOTF" href="http://e
Thanks a lot from an old MOO II fan. Its on my maybe list ( I am hooked on Kings Bounty Armored Princess now).
You're welcome joasoze from an MOO2 fan to another :) The game you mention seems to be a rather good RPG indeed, judging from what you say and some good reviews out there. I'm not much in RPGs lately, more in good classic strategy, you know Civ4, SOTS and now Armada 2526.
