ExamDiff is a freeware windows diff tool that seems to work pretty good. http://www.prestosoft.com/edp_examdiff.asp Although having looked up the info on WinMerge I'm going to have to give that one a try. [edit] Converted link to text

Hmm, perhaps that is why the mod I was playing around with on the weekend where I added one tech & changed the description of 2 others, and added a couple new weapons sort of worked. The techs showed up in the right place, and two of the three techs had the right description, but the third still had the old description. And I could create units with the newly created weapons, but I couldn't find one in a store to buy for my sov.
Why are you moving Caravans manually? After creation, a selected Caravan only need be pointed to another of your cities, right click to send them and they "should" traverse the trip, and create a road/route on auto pilot.
Because I'm a micro-manager who doesn't trust the wagon drivers to try to avoid the bear/spider/thug that is wandering into their path, and thus get themselves eaten...

Yesterday my soverign and her army happened to stop on the same tile that a caravan was sitting on. My soverign has the trait that makes the entire army move at the same speed she does, she can move 6 tiles per turn, and she had a full stack of units with her already. So at the end of the turn there were 7 units on the tile. The next turn I selected my soverign and her 5 army brats and move them off in one direction their allotted 6 spaces. When I went back to move m

Doing a partial xml node caused very wierd results, and the odd CTD. I'm sure it was nothing I did though... [e digicons]:D[/e]
However maybe it's random... some techs are not opened for given game.
Looking through the xml files containing the techs, they all have their set to 100, so they should all show up all of the time. Obviously StarDock built in the ability to have them randomly not show up for a given game (by setting the number to something smaller), but it isn't actually happening in the game yet.<

How are mod values applied to the defaults? Does a modded value overwrite the entire element or just the attribute/node under the element? Example: Say I want to add the ability to raze a city almost right away, rather than after learning Fortifications as is it currently set. The Fortifications TechDef contains the following modifier, which enables razing of a city. Player &lt

I submit to you that higher learning is not required. Well, maybe knowledge of fire would be beneficial...[e digicons][/e] -Sal

Ahh, population... the coloring doesn't mean anything then, just how far the ring goes around. Ok. And for the Sov the green bar must have gotten lost in the underlying picture, all I saw was the blue and my Sov was at full health. I'll look again. Thanks for the info.

In the bottom center of your screen is a circle which displays the icon of the currently selected thing, be it a town, unit, etc. Around the outside of the picture there is a colored ring (sometimes). Last night my Sov had the right half all blue, but the left half was empty/missing. My town had a ring that went from the bottom up and around to about the "1 o'clock" position, and it was red, blue, green and yellow... I thought it might be a mana/health indicator

In the CoreItems.xml file the items are listed out. One of the attributes is . Looking at the Salted Pork it has a value of 40. Healing Nectar has a value of 60. From what I recall of the vendor prices that's what they cost, so going through the CoreItems.xml file and changing all the ShopValues should be what you are looking for. (Haven't tried it, just a guess from browsing the xml files) Remember that StarDock can & will overwrit

The Tower of Magi is an improvement that increases mana regeneration by 2. I haven't actually seen the effect in-game yet, but my understanding is that it effects your soverign as well as your units. Anyway, it has the following modifier on it (from the file Core Improvements/KingdomUniqueImprovements.xml) Player AbilityBonus</At
