I don't understand why I would want to pay money for something that could be concievably added by a third party for free.

I'm really dissapointed that the polls turned out this way. I'm positive that my personal enjoyment of GalCiv2 would be multiplied by a hundred if I could play multiplayer. Personally, I'm of the strong oppinion that if something can be modded easily, then the dev team shouldn't really focus on it, since players can make their own content for it easily. I've already created several of my own types of governments, research options, planetary improvments, etc...
