Will it be distributed through Steam? I hope so. A tentative yes either way.
Heart Shaped Man
Why must we be facing other strictly defined factions in a 4X? Why not just make it so that the player is up against the "world"; something varied and not so easily defined. Why can't we just have our leader/faction simply struggling to survive against what the world throws at them, with minor factions thrown in that act and operate in their own way ie not like the player with research and so on. Players like to be bombarded with a myriad of interesting decision
- Art style/visuals - Very traditional (and dull) tech/research system
- Quests - The champions and that they came to you randomly - Designing units (but having an interesting mix of unique units would be just as good if not better) - Running around and finding loot/cool stuff at the start of the game ^^On Topic^^ I was so disappointed that the game seemed to slip into the "same old" 4X experience after that. The city building and research was dull to me, and I generally feel that way about all 4X games now.
Looks immense. High production values and depth. Can't wait.
I agree. They really dropped the ball on aesthetics. The graphics are horrible but what makes it worse is the uninspired and generic look of everything. It puzzles me because GalCiv2 was not a bad looking game. I'd rather FE/LH only had four factions if they all played and looked completely differently using different systems.
You guys are right, it was the Scythe of the Void. Did not think to look at equipment, thanks.
This is very annoying, at late game one of my Champions (Bacco the Beggar) has stopped gaining XP 3/4 of the way through Lv 10. I've tried using the Destiny's Gift spell on him to try and level him in the hope it would start working but it does nothing. Anyone come across this and fixed it?
Or does it just affect damage, with specific "+level for summons" traits reserved for summoning?
Small weekly or bi-weekly updates would be great imo. Gives the players something to constantly look forward to and helps keep each game you start fresh.
1) If I buy a disc in a shop I still have to spend hours downloading the whole game via Steam's servers - thats f'd up; don't they store the game on discs anymore? If you have to go through Steam anyway, why bother having discs at all? That's just devs using Steam to deliver day-one patches, complain to the devs. Pretty common practice though these days, it can be a month between going gold and release day, there are bound to be up
... the game isn't physically installed on my computer like a disk or most digital downloads would, because the game is on the cloud, totally controlled by Steam. I know this isn't how all Steam games work, just the ones that use all aspects of Steamworks, unless I am mistaken.?
You are mistaken. Steam isn't a cloud-gaming service like OnLive. The game is on your PC. The Steam cloud is just used f
I love Steam, it is the best thing to happen to PC gaming in the last decade IMO. I was reluctant at first, and only signed up because Dawn of War 2 was a Steamworks game. Yes, sometimes there is the odd issue with connectivity but the positives far outweigh the negatives. That being said, I do like getting my games retail since I like having a box and it's usually cheaper for new releases (in the UK). If a game is Steamworks and uses Steam wherever you get it I&
Agree, or at the very least allow you to assign a retinue of guards for it. As it stands now I simply refuse to build them because it is so tedious. Not fun at all.
Some people are enjoying the game as it stands, let them enjoy it together.
You can get Umberdroths which are pretty similar.
Clicky
They are apparently re-working it as a Workshop feature, they felt it was becoming too complex to try and cram into the game creation process.
The readability of some of the text is awful. For me, it's where you use what seems to be Times New Roman (seriously!?). This font has plagued my existence since I can remember and makes me vomit (I'm a web designer). Such as here . The part under the "Warfare" heading - The soldiers of the Gilden army are fearless... - is barely pa
You should be able to buy the boxed version in Europe online. It's the stores (retail stores) in Europe that are the issue.
Oh really? Well that's great news. I never buy games from brick and mortar stores simply because most of them have a woeful selection of PC games to begin with. I haven't been able to find it online though. Last time I checked the usual places - Play.com, GAME.co.uk, Amazo
The reason it's so "expensive" is because your currency is weaker right now, it's the same $50 we Americans are paying. It's a global price- you aren't getting gouged. If the pound was $1.80 like it was before Europe started worrying about the other white meat, it would be less then what it is now.
I understand that it's a global price, but when that policy makes your game more expensive a
European player here. I have not played the beta but have been very much looking forward to Elemental. I consider Stardock as one of the few companies that "understand" the games they make so always look out for their releases. I'm very disappointed that EU will see no retail release. For two main reasons: 1) I like having a box 2) Price As backwards as it sounds, DD is always more expensive for the user (in the UK anyway) than retail. You
