I took a break from FE after city placement became a chore with the tile yields not showing up in the 1.3 update. Was this fixed? Or is city placement still very restricted?

I think FE needs to expand into its own identity. It well on its way and is different from any other game in the genre. FE is going to have some fierce competition if AoW 3 succeeds. Fortunately this game is completely different and easily stands on its own. My biggest criticism of this game is that it tends toward the bland and not the wow factor. I enjoy the game, but the wow moments are few and far between. I always wanted to experience the game w

The new Tile Yield System makes no sense at all. Places you can settle are not desirable as locations and the areas that you would like to settle like next to woods or rivers are often blank. More often next to forests than rivers. Also essences made sense when they were tied to magic or crystal nodes. Now essence is random and makes for very few choices if any to get essence. Also sometimes taking a good tile was not good tactically, like blocking a choke point o

I have a city producing 120 food per turn because it has access to 2 farms and I ran every single road back it from my other 15 cities, so now every city in my game is almost lvl 5.

HOMM made it so that arrows just weren't effective against some types of unit in a common sense sort of way. Arrows vs units with shield=little to no damage. Arrows lost 1/2 of their strength if shot very far or over tall units/walls. Or doubled in strength as they got closer (is your glass half empty or half full). Arrows vs certain units = little damage. Treants, Hydras, etc Calvary could

I am glad I got into the FF14 beta. It helped me to know I won't be purchasing. The new anti-bot software makes it so all commands entered on the computer have to be verified on the server before the game will respond giving the game a felling like you have 1000-2000 ping all the time. I thought it was just because it was beta but nope, that was a feature. Can't play it.

1.07 has been fairly stable and actually enjoyable to play. Magic is better and more worth the effort Bugs are still present but they are more acceptable and less game breaking than before I have not felt like punching my computer at all today (Yes I am going to counseling for my rage issues) If this game had been released as of today, all the bad publicity could have been avoided. Stardock is go

There are a few companies I will give monetary support to. Stardock is one of 3 I can name where I am not worried at all at the shape the game is in now. It will be fixed and majorly improved. You should see Galciv from where it started to where it is now. I actually did not understand portions of the game until the 2nd expansion explained it to me. Actually the only reason I hate this is the backlash that is coming in the reviews and hence the players

There is a spell Imbue champion that turns another hero into a caster. It costs 3 essence points and starts you new hero on their way to becoming a channeler. I recommend only doing this on lvl 1 heroes as it quickly let you level their essence up. You need 16 mana to get most of the best summons.

I only ever use fire/earth spells. Enchantment spells cost too much and take years to recover from casting. The rest of the books are nice but don;t seem to improve my combat ability or survivability.

If you research trade, you can sell your excess to the other factions in the diplomacy screen whether you have caravans going to them or not. Farming mobs that spawn in the woods is always a good source of income, especially with the thief ability as it gives between 10-20% more gildar. Trade treaties generate a good bit over time.

And don't leave out the game breaking bugs in tactical combat. Characters get stuck all the time for me in animations and with no access to the game menu you have to alt-f4 just to reload. My archers seem to have a 50/50 chance of attacking in melee animations at ranged or just running toward the target instead of attacking. Tactical spells are iffy. I consider it to be really awesome if I can do 15 damage in a battle with tier 2 spell

I find that level 2 cities get the big increases to resource production, ie the 20% bonus for leveling and then the buildings that add 25%+. So works best with the resources they have access to. Cities with no resources get 1 production from basic buildings. You would need to be a lvl 3 city to get 100% increase in production of that resource bringing you to 2 resources per turn (20% lvl2 city+30%lvl 3 city+ 50% for buildings=a lot of money spent). Def

I have tried and tried to increase my gildar production with absolutely no luck. My last game was the best I have done with about 50-60 gildar a turn. Only way I got that high was by not declaring war with anyone and only having summoned armies. The problem is one stack of 10 squads can eat 50 gildar in a heart beat, so how do I get it higher? I have read some people getting 1 city to a 100 gildar a turn production. Is this just lucky mine placement or is the

Thanks, I did not know that. My sovereign's been getting them with tiny increases to their attack.

I can't figure out city building. I have cities on plains that can't seem to have space for late game building and then other time I have cities enclosed by mountains that can build right up the sides without ever running out of room..

I managed to get a dragon in my latest game and they are completely insane. 100 atk, 60 health, 60 armor, 60 mana, and all their magic does true damage so they can eat any major stack without even so much as a burp. I just stick my dragon with the kids to level them up quickly and its just fun. Only complaint, is that they are seriously mobility challenged. If I could change 1 thing about this game would be to separate attacks and mobility.

If you want a change of pace I recommend Age of Wonders:Shadow Magic. The sequel plays very similar to Elemental but unfortunately less units. It is an older game but one that got me into 4x rpg games.
