If I had some .NET developers handy, I’d ask them to make a proper editor
*Sigh* A month too late there Frogboy. I actually live just up in White lake (It's near Waterford). Just took a job in Farmington Hills as a .Net Developer. [e digicons]:([/e] Ah, well. Glad the quests are getting more love, though. BTW, if you're using Notepad for that s

Yes, I think that was the point. After all if you have Quest Victory enabled it automatically ends the game. It's akin to a tech victory, except this one actually gives you a useable item if the you have the win condition disabled.

I just want to point out that the monster are F-ing awesome. In my latest game, my civ started out in a little corner of the world surrounded by armies of trolls, Drakes, and a Death Demon. They were far enough away that I could build up, but were effectively blocking me from expanding much. I literally had to blaze a trail a through them to reach another habitable zone for another city. I think this was exactly the right feel. Taming the world was actually some

Still not convinced it's cumulative in .77. My champion just took about 5-8 hits to take out a Guardian statue in one turn. Also some scrap golem groups have taken a similar amount of hit, but I've still one-turn killed them.

There's no way that it's cumulative in .76. When my champion was fighting Vetrar she was only doing 3-8 pts of damage per hit. He has something like 229 hit points. If you figure my average attack did 5 pts. of damage I had to hit him 43 times to get his health down to 14. My champion was only lvl 12 so she only had about 35 Accuracy with bonuses. That means by the time she missed her accuracy would have been -94. Maybe the axe is bu

Long story short, the Beserker's Axe is broken. For those who don't know, the axe grants the "Maul" ability which means that whenever the character successfully completes an attack, they take another attack at -3 Accuracy. This repeats until they miss. You can probably see why this is a problem. Using this axe my level 12 champion, Lithii Seratta, killed Vetra in 2 turns. Seriously. Her first turn she lowered his HP to 14. The axe probably isn't that bad on a

My preorder was through Impulse and I got the Beta. You must have just been a later order. Either that or you were overlooked. In that case I recommend contacting Support. I'm sure Frogboy can hook you up.
Hmm, any plans of adding upkeep for units?
Pretty sure they already have an upkeep. When I was playing last, I was in my budget window and noticed a "Wages" entry. I assumed this was army wages.

Agreed with the above comments about the training time. If 4 is the new default you should adjust training times accordingly. After all, why does it cost 4x as long to build a unit of 4 men than it does to train 1 man when we don't even have the option to train one man? Also, kind of sad to see the population thing go. I liked it, I just hated that it kept bugging out on me, not letting me finish my games.

The population thing is a bug SD hasn't addressed yet. It seems to kick in as soon as you make a third city. I never had a problem with 2, but as soon as I conquer or settle a third, that city takes the Population usage from the capitol. Why? IDK, but I'm not playing anymore until it's fixed. Stardock- do NOT release 1.3 with this bug still in place.

Yeah, the population bug needs a serious fix. For some reason, whenever I control a third city it copies the population usage from my capitol, so that I had a settlement with 3 huts and nothing else "using" 250+ citizens. WTF? Patch, please. I was enjoying the game up till that point.
Another thing favoring better game development by the 'middle market' is that what passes for discount graphics these days are actually quite pleasant. Even minimum computer specs these days are capable of astounding things, and there is lots of precedent for simple (to code) but great-looking graphics. So putting resources into excellent art, story, and AI doesn't necessarily mean looking at a pixellated mush on the scr

Considering I just live down in Lansing.... Ah, well. Too busy anyway. Would definitely like to see TacCom fleshed out more. It always felt a little too vestigial, even though I know a lot of work went into it.

Wow. Elemental is the only one on that list that I bought. I hope you're proud of yourself Stardock. You got my money, no one else did. Elemental's own Report Card: Release - D 1.0 End of 2010 - B 3.0 Now - B+ 3.5

Large, of course. It's not a fantasy epic without a large area of play. Hear that Fable? Big world. Not Corridors.

I bought Elemental on Launch. A Week later I stopped playing it because it was no longer fun. It was shallow and unbalanced. Making the experience drab across the board. A sad disappointment. Enter v1.1 I just played 5 hours straight and only stopped because I have to go to work soon and should eat something. Oh. My. God. Such seemingly minor changes completely revitalized and improved the game. Everything feel so much more interesting and enjoyable now. It's not perfe

I also hope that the factions begin behaving distinctly. As it stands they're just boring to play against because the only real differences seem cosmetic, and barely that. Here's hoping the threading can get elemental up to GalCiv2's standard.
such as faction differentiation
And the skies opened and angels sang, And there, through the clouds, I saw the divine light. And God said, "Hell Yes!" This is what I've been thinking the game needed since day 1. All the factions in the game look/act/react/etc. completely the same. And I never got that, since the races in GalCiv2 were so distinct. I know Stardock can do it. They just didn't. Hopeful

"+ Units should gain experience from combat, gradually increasing its hp. It would be the natural counterpart to training experienced units at a cost of time." Wait, what? I'm pretty sure it does that already. I've seen my share of "Conscripts have reached level 4." I've also noticed a distinct rise an HP as they level up. Is there something else here that they're asking for, because, as written, it's already implemented. Edit: Wow, double

Heh, I doubt it will be as bad as GalCiv 2 when I first got it. I used, (thank god I can say 'used') to run it on a single core system running Vista with half a gig of Ram. It used to take literally 15-20 mins for a game to load, up to half an hour for late game saves. I'm still running the single core, but Ive more than quadrupled my RAM. Sooo nice. Besides, if E:WoM can run on "a crappy netbook" I think it will be bearable on my machine.
