I removed all the earlier folders and reinstalled only the two DLC I had purchased via Steam. I am still getting this error message relating to megaevents, crusade and intrigue (I bought Intrigue and Retribution via Steam).

I tried the "fix" that seemed to work when I had this problem before (renaming DLC folder to dlc.org and repairing) but when I bought another DLC it recurred. I have these in my oldest folder - DLC.oldest: "E:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Galactic Civilizations III\D
I confess I am puzzled at the lack of a "paper trail" to my purchases but the files for both DLC are in the folder I had to rename to make it work, Wish my memory was better so I could be confident I actually bought them. But they're not that expensive if I decide to get them again I guess. Is the 2018 manual still basically up to date for what I need to know?
The files were in E:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Galactic Civilizations III Your fix seems to have worked. Now all I have to do is remember how to play! And mourn the loss of my crusade and megaevents DLC? I presume I purchased them direct and not through steam and that's why it wasn't picked up but I would like to have access to them as well... Unless the content has subsequently been rolled into the core game? Now all I have to do is remember how the game is played!</
If you mean the DLC settings within Steam, I can't uncheck the two rogue ones because (at least as far as Steam knows) I don't own them! And I can't see where in the stardock launcher I could control this. I looked at the settings file there - it's empty.
Deleted the old shortcut. First tried just running it from Steam "play"button. Then created a new shortcut and ran from that. In all cases it launched the Stardock launcher, then I clicked on Play, then I got the same error message.
I just checked and my direct X is up to date. I have downloaded the DirectX End-User Runtime Installer and it said all was fine. I used SFC and it found no integrity violations... Any other ideas?
I tried completely uninstalling and reinstalling but no luck. I've been playing off and on since at least 2006 can you help me out? (NB I don't seem to have a record in Steam of having bought MegaEvents or Crusade but I might well have done!
I tried the "general"stardock.net channel but it doesn't seem to work any more.
I can't see their whole empire to see what they might have done.
I "bought" first aid for one of my champions but for some reason in combat it doesn't show up as an option, either on the buttons or on the pull-down menus? I know she's an ironeer but that makes spells more expensive not impossible?
I'd like to bribe someone into an economic treaty (to make it easier to attack him later thanks to the road, but he doesn't need to know that). He is at -3 to that idea though. I have lots of stuff he would like but when I offer it to him for free it isn't obvious what it does to his point of view - it certainly doesn't seem to change the initial -3 (but maybe it would over time?)
Re-upping this because I didn't get a response. Please can you help? I thought the forum was dead but there were responses to the other query...
I have a vague recollection that there is some dev work coming up for this but perhaps that's wishful thinking? Meanwhile I was wondering about the advice in this https://forums.stardock.com/435680/work-in-progress-a-newbie-guide-to-fallen-enchantress Or in this htt
1 Make it possible to "queue up" a standard list of default social building on new colonies (EG a factory followed by a stardock followed by a research center) 2 Make it possible to view and edit all your existing designs in the ship designer rather than just being able to see the overall stats of a design and having to start from scratch when the time comes to upgrade a ship.
I found that consistently I had difficulty getting my troop transport cargo ships to form into a fleet. Each time I tried, it would 'create' a new ship with logistics 0 and no ship icon. I didn't try doing a fleet rendezvouz point - perhaps I should have.
After only a few tries I found a strategy that seems to result in my dominating victory (on normal skill level) but though I have space supremacy, invading the enemy if he's got a fully-developed planet is very costly. Apologies - the numbers below come from memory so may be quite rough. 1) I have fleet size 15 (quite advanced logistics) but this results in a maximum invasion force of 3000 (three cargo ships each with two troop modules). It
It would be great if you could click on a parameter and see what you need to research in order to improve that parameter. And it would be handy if you could see the radius of a starbase before deciding finally to create it or not so you could see easily whether it covers the area you want it to!
1) The point at which population stops growing is not 30% approval as it states in the manual – it wasn’t until I found that my empire had been flat in size for a quarter that I realised that the colour of the approval percentage was indicating whether the pop was growing or not. At least I assume that’s what the colour indicates! Personally I would be happier if population and approval moved up and down more gradually rather than in ‘steps’ as at pres
1) When you are trading techs (or whatever) and you want to pay or request just enough money to make the deal pass, the amount to pay/demand that will just be acceptable should be automatically suggested. 2) The population rise or fall in the previous week should be shown on a planet's main view. 3) You should be able to see what a new kind of building will do by clicking on the name when you are looking at the tech screen and trying to decid
I definitely back the autopilot trail on main map (at least as an option) and the ability to know how long it will take for a ship to arrive at the destination. If I accidentally upgrade a ship to the wrong design I would like to be able to cancel this. In fact anything I choose to do (except movement) - buying a ship for example - should be cancel-able as long as I haven't gone to the next turn at that point.
That's my complaint though. Of course I was able to design better ships right from the start but the two I had already built before the game had started should have had the technologies I already knew.
I paid for faster engines in my starting tech tree so I could colonise faster but while my flagship used them my first colony ship was stuck with the old hyperdrives.
Is the manual really correct? Does a colony with 6bn people in it really have the same number of births as one with 100,000 in it? Only a set number of people per planet can have sex regardless of population? This really puts pressure on you to produce lots of colonies instead of trying to develop the ones you have because that's the only way to boost population growth (at least initially).
