Here's 3 small improvements, nothing major, that would be very welcome, at least for the way I play... 1) Ship upgrade costs. The costs to upgrade ships don't make much sense to me. If you choose to upgrade ship X, and you choose to upgrade to ship X, i.e. nothing changes, the cost is usually in the neighborhood of the original ship cost. Shouldn't it be 0 in this case? (or maybe choosing the same exact ship shouldn't be available at all?)

I reported a similar bug a couple of weeks ago. I don't see Stinger 2, 3, or 4 missiles. The information on those techs in the research screen when I select them doesn't even indicate that there are any new ship components for those techs and, of course, they don't show up in the ship builder at all. I'm stuck with Stinger 1 missiles until I research up into the next line of missiles. Gets pretty annoying in games where I'd like to switch to

I've had the exact same problem, posted in a different thread (I'd link it if it would show up in the forum list). Somehow, I don't think his nvidia drivers which were the most recent *until today* are the problem. His sound driver is out of date, so is mine. I doubt that is the problem either, though I suppose it's possible. I don't have a dual core system, so I'm guessing that isn't the problem either. It l

After playing for about 5 hours this evening, my game screen suddenly turned grayscale - the planet owner icons were the only thing that was still colored. The black space background was gray, the interface was mostly solid white except for some text, the influence borders were white, and trade route lines were black. I have a screenshot that I'd be happy to email to someone if needed. It's too large for me to post on my account where everyone will hit

I've also seen white ships too, but only in the editor. Sometimes they're white, sometimes they're not. I see this the first time I press Upgrade in the ship editor after loading a save game. Happens every time for me. Going back out to the ship list and pressing Upgrade a second time fixes it. <

Bug fixes of various kinds I'd sure like to see this bullet expanded. What fixes can we expect? Don't need to detail every minor fix, but it would be nice to see what bugs you are working on.

Yes, I see this all the time. Not only ships but planetary improvements as well. The first 2 or 3 turns after you load a game, you need to manually check your production queues. I've just gotten into the habit of manually checking what is due to be produced next turn just before I end my turn so I can immediately tell if something wasn't reported. One of the many issues with saving and loading games...

Heh, I didn't even think to look in the patch notes for this because it would have never occurred to me in my wildest dreams that this was a 'fix'. What's the point of an upgrade button that forces me to remember what was on my ship and rebuild it from scratch? I'd call it more of a.... hmmm, what's the opposite of fix?... a 'break'? an 'unfix'? I vote for putting it back the way it was and making the Upgrade button useful again...(and plea

This started happening to me yesterday. I have the latest drivers, running the 1.0X.1 patch, and yes, I've restarted the app. Whenever I click on the 'Upgrade Ship' button in the ship builder, it gives me the ship with every component that takes up space, i.e. everything but the hull and the 'extras' stripped off of the ship. This happens in load games or new games.

I agree that this is the biggest bug outside of any remaining CTD bugs. Something about knowing that the game I just loaded is not quite the same as the one I saved leaves me feeling uneasy... kinda when you see a hot girl from behind and then she turns around and you realize she's a he...

Every Stinger Missile research level after the first (2 through 4) doesn't give you anything. Maybe there's supposed to be 3 'gateway' techs in a row that don't give you anything, but based on the text when you finish the research (talking about the missiles getting smaller, etc.) it seems that those techs should be giving me a smaller version of the Stinger. Other, similar, research techs do give you a new component at each level. Is this the way the

Nathan, On the first item, I'm not sure you understood what I meant. I can remove things fine, either by clicking on the ship itself and removing, or by clicking on the component in the scroll list and removing. But... if that component happens to be the very last component in the scroll list (true at least for hardpoints) and you select and remove it, the scroll list does not get updated, i.e. that component is still visible there which leads to all sorts of visual problems if you do

Well, my biggest issue is still the various (and numerous) problems with the game after loading a save game which are detailed in several other posts. I would think this should be a very high priority, but then again, I'm not crashing to desktop . I think this game has the potential to be the gold standard for space strategy, but I have to say I'm disappointed with the number of bugs that I'm seeing. On to the bugs... <br/

Aye, it seems that, in general terms, the load function is not correctly restoring the state of the game. Having been a game developer for about 15 years, I know that this is something that can easily happen and the result can often be a bear to track down - seemingly unrelated bugs or bugs that don't seem to be related to save/load but really are, bugs that don't manifest until many turns laters, internal (incorrectly restored) variables that affects player visible data in some obscure way, etc

Thanks, of course I found that shortly after posting Still, it's tedious having to set each planet individually. Also, I found the fix for #1. Toggling the Background Music checkbox off and then back on restored my music.

Sorry if this was posted elsewhere... I'm seeing a number of problems after loading a save game. (playing 1.0D) 1) I don't always get music. Sometimes I do, sometime I don't. If I don't, nothing seems to restore it (Ctrl M, messing with the audio controls, etc.) 2) I only intermittently get notifications for completed planetary projects and completed ship builds that were underway when I saved the game - even if i
