I'd like to be able to use WASD too.

I'd like to suggest a couple of things. Couldn't find anything recent in forums regarding this: I'd like to use WSAD for scrolling around. Or at least make it configurable. I am pretty sure many gamers use WSAD + mouse combination. Arrow keys are too close to mouse and you have to move hand to E and other shortcuts. Please make UI responsive, it makes a huge difference. This means that when you do something there are no delays and what I consider very importa
Since Elemental is unplayable for me I started replaying Elven Legacy again. I really like the way you can skip everything there - click attack starts. Click again - you see damage done. Click once, unit starts moving, second click - unit is there. You can watch or you can double click. Works really well for impatient users such as me. Actually, if they took Elven Legacy and made that their tactical battle it wouldn't bother a bit :)
I agree with special abilities. Also, character attributes make no sense - there should be less of them and they should have an impact. I'd get rid of charisma and replace it with a feat or something similar. Another thing that bothers me is AP cost for movement? Why is movement more expensive than attack yet moving around hardly matters?
I'll go in a bit different yet relevant direction. I think combat is way to plain. Weapons have no character. At least there should be criticals and maybe special abilities - e.g. club could have ability to stun instead of damage . These features might be somewhere in there but I cannot see them. Anyways, what I'd like to suggest is cleave feature/feat on units and/or weapons. Where there are more units in one square damage gets transfered to one unit *only* if
On first turn I was located too close to AI's city and couldn't build my own. I had to move away from fertile land and could only build city in nearby desert. No screenshot, sorry.
It is good to know that you are working on that - this game has great potential to exceed my favorite turn based fantasy games - MoM and AoW:SM. It is also my first pre-order ever. Being developer I know you can get used to any sort of horrible UI after using it for a while and not notice anything is wrong - very very important that you get some usability expert or just random folks that never saw your app before. When I started gaming on c64, I could put up with anything - ho
[quote who="Annatar11" reply="7" id="2669598"]Quoting TheProgress, reply 6The entire GUI needs large amounts of polish and re-working IMO. I agree. This weekend I'm planning to write a big post about that, and figure out if I can put together a crappy mock-up based on the pre-beta UI mockups (mainly color scheme). I don't have very strong issue with the layout of the main GUI, other than the clunky spell and equipment screens (which Frogboy already mentioned), but the color s
I also find performance choppy - I hope because assets are being loaded from net. Scrolling around and zooming is not smooth and it should be: core i7 920 12gb ram GTX 295
Now that beta seems way more game like UI issues are becoming more distracting - at least for me. It takes way too many clicks to either perform actions or get data. I know that elemental also targets netbooks (1024x600?) but it should probably use large screen estate if available (writing this on 1920x1200) 1 - there isn't enough info about what city is doing. HUD should include at least what is being build and if units are being trained 2 - there should be go t
Color them based on function, not fraction. Green for food, yellow for gold...
To continue a bit rantish post at https://forums.elementalgame.com/385785 Leveling up What is wrong with current leveling - you get practically nothing in return. The whole point of level up is that you are waiting for next level to get some ability and then immediately use it. Abilities should not be overpowered though - D&D, demigod, HOMM (to lesser degree) have very nice level up. Elemental also has this concept in there, except for units. When city levels
Great job so far but lets start with things that bother me: Interface: - WSAD support for scrolling around - maybe I got used to do that while playing demigod - very useful - Multimonitor support - either lock primary monitor so cursor cannot escape and/or enable showing some stats on other monitors. Nothing is worse than managing to get cursor out of game monitor, clicking, bringing focus to some random app and have Elemental crash when trying t
Of all fantasy strategy games, I liked Age of Wonders II: Shadow magic tactical battle the most. Destructible city walls, different damage types and abilities... I'd improve the tactical magic system (make it more powerful) but that is it. Unit construction is where GalCiv went wrong - for me, at least. 3 damage types and 3 shields and no special abilities. The fun constructing your units is in the fact that you cannot be completely sure if your build will work. Unit const
