Just figured I'd close this out; I've continued to try and play...game crashes every time within with the first 2 hours. Yes it is possible to recover from saves but that is enough of a nuisance to make me give up. Honestly, the gameplay in this just isn't good enough to make me want to put up with constant reloading, endless support tickets and trying to tweak my machine (which runs everything else I have just fine). Maybe I will check back in 6 months...but since Shogun II T

You're right my "tone" is pretty negative...I tend to get that way when I waste money and yes, this is a public forum...hence why I'd rather complain here than in a PM to someone. Strangely, when I am really happy with a game I don't just PM the dev team...I tell my friends and others on forums like this; So why when I am unhappy with game would I not do the same? Can you come up with examples of why "every PC is different" defense doesn't cut it? Amazingly, yes I can. There

I'm just curious, why all the rabid defenders assume that anyone posting with problems hasn't already done the things they suggest? It's not like this is day 1 here; My drivers are up to date, I have a decent system and yes I have submitted reports over the months since launch...and the game has *never* been stable for me or many others. Is it playable? Barely, if I set autosave to 2-3 turns and just accept that I am going to have CTDs and have to reload 3,4,5 times per play session..

Okay, so I kept my mouth shut and waited for the great 1.1 patch; finally get it and less than 1 hour into my first game it CTDs. I now really feel like the money I spent on this game was a complete waste and I will not be buying another Stardock product unless it has been out a year and half a dozen of my friends swear to how good it is. I could have dealt with a much more modest revamp game play and balance-wise if it was *stable*! To have strung people along this long and p
It's a symptom of how unhealthy the game market is.
I have to agree with this; the PC game market is in the worst shape I have seen it in for as long as there has been a PC game market. Unless you play FPS or RTS there is very very little out there and most of what is out there is launching buggy/unplayable/unfinished.

Honestly the problems with rationalizing the tech system bother me a lot less than the problems with it in terms of implementation. The lack of balance between the trees and specific techs is just glaring. I can accept some being 'better' than others, but as it is now some are just essential and many are totally useless (and a few are arguably actually undesirable!).

The current combination of the city tile limits, city growth mechanism, building effects and recruitment system all lead to city spam as THE winning strategy; there is simply no trade off. Two cities grow twice as fast as one, recruit twice as fast, generate non-node dependent resources twice as fast, and on and on. The glaring problem is that the game engine/UI are very very VERY badly suited to managing anything beyond a handful of cities. So you have a system where the only reasona

Okay, I hate to mention it again - but does anyone know if there is any information on different racial traits or abilities out there? This is pretty ridiculous tbh, basic info like this should be right on the site or in the rulebook. As a new question, why would I be unable to retreat from a fight? I've had multiple occasions where units ran to the "glowing fog" but could not leave.

My apologies if this has been brought up before - I didn't see it covered anywhere. There should be a way to delete player created sovereigns and factions within the game, otherwise after any real amount of experimenting you wind up with some very cluttered screens.

Also not trying to slam the game, as I too see the potential for a decent game here. On the plus side it definitely launched in 'playable' condition, but only barely. What I see it as lacking is any kind of 'polish', the whole thing seems very hastily done and some of the UI / gameplay interface decisions just seem downright baffling. (As in how did anything this clunky make it past alpha testing, let alone beta) This game doesn't break much in the way of new ground here; we'r
