I have the game from day one from Impulse as I pre-ordered and since patching away from the pre-launch version I pretty much always simply see a black screen (according to impulse tried 100+ times to load it and managed to get a non-black screen about three times). So please do not treat this as a problem of rogue customers
What is even stranger that it did manage to start overall 3x (of about 60+ tries). But when I stopped and tried aganin next time black screen again. Alos no difference I could detect ( tried with and without having the screens data folder deleted)

Ah well, updated again (no the one after 1.05.016) and still black screen
Mine seemed to have been all not hidden in the first place; flipped them into hidden and back, still all black :-( Notice though new update available, hoping on that

Had it now running with black screen for 15min, no change (though music seems to change/progress) btw, not sure I want to play the game if it means I have to play it in admin-mode and while having my firewall turned off; somehow doesn't sound that great ;-)
Same here, had it weirdly getting through once one. Did turn off intro. Went out of the game, re-started and again black screen (though music now playing from start) so doesn't seem to be linked to the intro.
Hi, still getting black screen on starting, Launcher OK Cursor comes up but against black background Nothing happens, except music change when hitting esc Have this problem since 1,01; 1.00 was fine (in that respect)
Still getting the same black screen and NO crash under 1.05. Have been getting this since update from 1.00
Have, as stated in other post nearly the same problem (i.e. do not even see dragon) no crash, programme runs simply black screen
Delete screen folder and still black
PS I just updated the driver two weeks ago
I have exactly the same issue, screen black on starting since the update this morning. Basically: New Launcher starts fine Game starts Game cursor appears (feather/scribe) But black screen Music plays and seems to react to esc but still black
