How do you set the custom races "Trait"? I've looked through entire custom menus and cannot any button along those lines.

Here is a suggestion for a minor AI improvement for star searching. I personally weigh the number of planets and how close the star is before sending out a scout to it. So if there is only one planet around a star I'm apt to go to the 5 planet one thats a little farther away. Of course you could really go all out and do a lookahead and try to figure out the best route to see the greatest number of planets in the shortest time.
A few suggestions for both Move all the AI options off the option screen over to the shipyard. This way you can easily turn it on and off. Add button to have the AI populate a ship with stuff in the construction area. A better AI function would be an quick upgrade. Select a ship, it repopulates the ship with same % but newest tech. So if a ship is 20% Missles 20% Beam 5% shields 50% engines... it would keep the percentages and just populate the ship with new stu
May I put in a last minute request for an option to 'forget' ship designs not put in templates when you start a new game. I get annoyed when old and for all my intents and purposes pointless ship designs of mine clog up the shipyard in another game and I have to delete each one individually.
There is a option (not sure how long it has been there) not to save ship designs.
Oh, it also did the same thing with the new graphics engine turned off.
GalCiv works fine. Dark Avatar however just puts up the screen then exits about 1 second later. No error code. I've also updated my nvidia drivers to the latest version. Here is the debug.err Debug Message: Version v1.61 Dark Avatar last updated on: Wed Jun 13 14:10:36 2007 Debug Message: Checking DX Version. I think you guys are partially to thank for that decision. Hopefully your sales will continue to excel and the press will keep referring to you every time someone doesn't (or does) put copy protection in there game.
Ahhh game programmer weeks.... take the latest possible time from when promised and that is when it will get release. Takes me back. But seriously, Fantastic job - looks like you guys hit your programming stride now that you got that evil box deadline out of the way. No rush, I rather have it later with less bugs than have an unplayable beta. Oh and try to get some sleep. Too many hot-pockets can kill ya. Oh and if yo
Also you can give the planets a focus, either military, production, or technology. So you can target a planet to do more than what you have your sliders set at.
I often use very fast cargo ships with lots and lots of sensors as a early warning screen. Since they can see ahead I can pull them back and get what I need to the front line in time. Early on in the game I use them for Survey ships. Although tiny ships are cheaper, the cargo ship can go faster and see farther. Even though It has 1 point, the regular scouts are dead anyway if they run into anything that wants to attack them. </fon
Thank you for not having the CD in the drive. I never liked it that much and to be able to just start up the game is fantastic. Of course not having a publisher come a long and say "you must put this copy projection on the disK" or even worse having them put it in behind your back is a definite plus! Having been in the game industry (a long time ago) I can say that you don't often have that choice. Plus you got Dugg twice! T
