Quoting wynams, reply 3cuz hex maps, AAA level polish and working multiplayer out of the box suck amirite? Enough "wynams". You don't have Civ V and I suspect you don't have Elemental.
I agree, I'll play both. Elemental and Civ arn't really competition for each other one is high fantasy & magic one is historical fiction.
Such limits are stupid thing. Do not want. Food already limits city development, there is no need for hard caps.
food doesn't limit development, even if you don't multi route to the capital with caravans, get to lvl 5, destroy houses, repeat.
the biggest dislike of no increasing costs per city means there isn't a soft 'limit' meaning each city is less special. Why do I care about city (x) if I can make 35 more for no cost increase. Idk how this would be implemented, maybe 1 city per civilization/empire level and additional cities over that incur increasing penalties? idk.
"Rosebud"
ditto the manual was decent, i miss the old bible thickness manuals
Is there any downside? An increasing cost a noticable upkeep? Anything to keep a player in check from mass producing pioneers and placing one city at every available interval and caravan'ing long distances to food sources for huge bonus's from tiny cities? Note: You can also destroy houses and not lose population? Lol is this intended? EDIT: A side note, I can spam enchantments on all the cities to make them usefull, there should be an enchantment limit or at le
I play starcraft 2, interesting and fun in short doses then elemental. (Starcraft gets exceedingly tedius after a few games)
I had a Pioneer on a Transport and I was heading towards a spot where I thought I could create a settlement, and I noticed that the Create Settlement action (or whatever it's called--I just tried to alt-tab back to the game to check and it crashed) was lit up. So I clicked it and was able to create a settlement out in the water. I couldn't build any improvements, which limited growth due to housing shortage, but I was able to train units. Correct me if I'm wrong, but this seems like a
Stopping the ships from auto-exploring worked. I'd still like to know how to prevent it from happening again. Auto-exploring is convenient, and I don't want to give it up.
Woooooo! The map is awesome! I love that new fresh out of the box game smell. The other goodies were nice, I think I'll be too lazy to paint the dragon though
Okay, I guess I do have some ships on auto-explore. I had that happening in the background, so I wasn't thinking about it. So is there a cure? If I stop them from auto-exploring before turn 464, will it keep going? (Obviously, I'll give this a try later.) Is there a way to prevent it from happening?
I wasn't auto-exploring. I was manually moving my units or clicking End Turn.
When I get to turn 464, my game stops. It doesn't crash. It just doesn't let me keep moving. Clicking End Turn does nothing and trying to move parties does nothing. I've tried reloading from a saved game and doing something different, but it still stops at turn 464. Is this a bug or do I need to change a setting?
Ditto, you are all definitely my favorite game company! Huge customer support and community feedback and quality continuing support of your games is unparalleled in today's market.
No random maps is a big game breaker for me, I won't play even my first game of Elemental. Don't want to ruin the first impressions with an unpatched fully realized game. ((I bought the limited edition)). Stardock will add it though! They always do!
Hello! I bought E:WOM for a specific reason, to recreate a custom world with a game that allowed/encouraged mods, and could facilitate a map size of epic proportions (which is for my needs about 20% larger then Large). The last time I did this sort of work was with Warlords2:Deluxe. I am sure this is the right game to do it, so much so I did a LE+Preorder. So what I really need is a bit more flexibility in factions (with
yeah, they've e
There does exist an intersect of people who (a) are Stardock fans, (b ) are dissatisfied with the launch state of Elemental in some form or another, and (c) want or expect Elemental to become the better game it can be. Don't dismiss them. This. I love the previous works Stardock have made (even though, yes, there were bugs and various problems at all launches) but GalCiv 1 & 2 were fantastic out of the box and only g
Incorporating a point value system into this would be awesome.
I will be following this, it doesn't feel like a 'kingdom' with 12 soldiers and a leader with a couple summoned units and a hero or two conquesting the known world... not to mention the un-random maps
Everything should be randomized aside from that starting fertile land and being 'blocked in'. You have good starts and bad starts, its about exploring and finding/making do with what you do/don't have near you.
That is all true, but with steam you can expect playing for DLC, paying for mini expansions and avatars, as well as rediculous DRM. Even if I was making 1/3 I make now, I would still buy from stardock :P at the full price.
Make a friend in the USA (or some where non Europe) send them a cashiers note/check for price of Elemental and have thempurchase it on your impulse account. Then you can download it whenever you like!
I'm assuming (like they've repeatedly said) that the beta's performance and the release day 0 will be VERY different. I'm very much above the listed requirements 8 gb ram vista 64 2gb 5970 ATI Radeon quad core processor Q6600 I can run multiple new games at max 1920x1200 settings without any dip in FPS but this game brings the FPS down to the teens often and requires restarts frequently to clear it up (once an hour or so)
