It is wisdom at character creation but Essence when leveling up. If you raise your essence you will have more mana
BlackRainZ
I agree
Its pretty simple to get completely random maps, perhaps it should have been an option to begin with but at least you can do it.
I have to say I am greatly impressed with the progress of the game. I admit that the campaign is lacking in a big way but I love the game itself.
ill have to check it out, but im really hoping to be able to play soon hehe.
So when do you think we will be able to play today?
I am curious about children. Will their stats be higher than they were in beta?
I almost did the same thing but I archived beta 4
I would also like to know how balanced combat is. It seems the attack rating is high and the defense ratings are very low, but I dont know why.
what do you mean what is the human alternative techwise? Your soldiers are mostly all humanoid. Just a tech or two into war will get you some good equipment for soldiers as well. I think hiring spiders is probably expensive goldwise.

However, this discussion became an argument over this weird very unStardock like behavior of implying that LAN is somehow the same as being online. If it was a misunderstanding, that putting the word LAN in the subject and mentioning before there would be LAN play, that Brad was not saying LAN was available now, he never bothered to say so
Or you can with a little patience and friendly dialog, they may just decide to support LAN as you hope.
[quote who="Nesrie" reply="237" id="2714906"] Quoting BlackRainZ, reply 233Again, all I see is crying and whining in this thread from the same people. Let me just ask a question, do you really think your whining is going to change anything at this point? No it isn't. Your also not going to change the minds of 90% or more of the people who will be buying the game for its' single player aspect, probably never even touching multiplayer. Don't get me wrong, I understand that you are generall

Seriously, the two or three people in this post complaining about LAN, your annoying. You got your expectations up on something that was never really clear to begin with. You should have handled the situation with just a little bit of class instead of whining like a child because that is exactly how it seems. If your really that upset, cancel your pre order, ask for a refund and move on. This is a product like any other, if you don't like it don't buy it. Now if you want to have some clarific
NTJedi are you being sarcastic? It is difficult to tell.
[quote who="DragonRider862" reply="96" id="2714281"]From what I know, there are two reasons to use a LAN connection in most games. 1) Near-zero latency. 2) It's a guaranteed, no-hassle way of getting multiplayer to work for local players. It doesn't matter if the authentication servers or down, or the internet is down, or somebody's wireless card isn't working. As long as the computers can run the game and you have the cables, there's nothing that
Frogboy, please don't let the very few nay sayers get to you. I understand that some people may want things to be a certain way but it isn't going to be that way. I think it is great what you guys are doing and I would just ignore them because I guarantee that 95 to 98 percent of the people who will be playing this game really wont care about Lan or having to connect to the internet, etc. I for one don't and for those of you who do, perhaps this isn't the game for you after all.
Congrats, cant wait to start playing and modding to my liking.
Most likely
Thanks for all the hard work. I am sure the game is going to be spectacular come release.
I figured that the final game would be different in regards to weapon balance that is why I said according to Beta 4. I think the races are just fine and I am looking forward to seeing how effective different weapons will be.
Well for all we know, that has changed in the latest version Tridus, but I have to agree that in Beta 4, it is rather true that there is very little difference between the different weapons and magic. You just go with whatever is the most powerful.
Frogboy, having only humanoid soldiers and such is fine. I dont care if there are elves, orcs, and unicorns, etc. I also haven't seen the final product yet but I think what one thing they are talking about, and what I hope is that there will be more variety between weapons. I can't really say because I don't know what you guys have done to combat now but in beta 4 the uniqueness and variety in combat is lost I think. It would be great if a dagger could attack several times, weakly, while a mu
[quote who="_Scooter_" reply="14" id="2705803"] and no matter where I build a city I am liable to get 10 or more resource plots easily No matter where you build a city? seriously? I cannot replicate this. Please post some screenshots. I have observed the exact opposite in most games I play. In about half of the space, cities would get zero resources, and in most of the rest they'd never get more than ~2-3 until they grow to truly huge i
