I think I got something, maybe. I took a video of this: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/9578304/ramloss.avi Please observe how I can make it jump 3 MB in usage every time I press the design units button, even though it's displaying the same exact thing every time.

No, it wasn't and it didn't come back down. I have seen significant increases in memory whenever the technology screen pop-ups when you are prompted to pick a new path (the 2nd screen you get, not the first one when you pick which of the tech choices you want), even though it should (in theory) already be loaded into RAM.

1. Every 5 turns. 2. Only when forced by a quest. That may be when the leaks start happening though... 3. As I described above, I've seen it creep 70 MB in the middle of a turn while not doing anything (not moving the display, nothing).

I was just sitting there and it steadily rose about 50 MB over the course of a minute right after I got a notification that another nation had built a unique structure. I was already in the neighborhood of 1.4 GB of RAM. Here is my saved game file: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/9578304/jusfhere.EleSav and debug: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/9578304/jusf_debug.err

Inspired by the adjacency bonuses Brad mentioned in one of the beta 2 threads, I'd like to propose a much less micro-intensive suggestion: automatic city specializations. Based on whatever type of building is most prevalent in a particular community, you'd receive a % bonus in the production of said field, complete with swanky icon to show you what you should concentrate on in the future. As an example, if you have a lot of schools and other research buildings, you get a 100-150% b

I had hardly any connection problems before the two Thursday patches. Connecting to custom games for me has been really fast. I have not successfully joined any skirmish game so far. Every match has featured one player that (a) can't connect to anyone or (b) can't connect to me. Thus, I always get the "matchmaking failed" error message.
but a perfect score given the still recurring issues with multiplayer?
The score was based on the assumption that the multiplayer issues will be fixed soon. If you come back a year later and see that score of Demigod and Gamespot's score of Demigod, which will be a more accurate assessment of the game? Like diamonds, the Internet is forever.

I didn't notice any of the bugs (I use XP) you mentioned in ToA...bugs can be hit or miss and I missed them I guess. Getting the quantity of games I do doesn't let me devote the complete amount of time to each and every game that I would like, but I do feel I definitely play each title enough to give a thorough review. Averaging 2 games a week means I have to play about 2 games a week, so there you go. I'd like to think that Out of Eight covers a wide range of PC games that the "big" sites ignor
