I saw the food bug. I noticed that there are trapezoids (blue) in the minimap after a culturally flip planet switches to you. There are still problems with planets displaying inaccurate pq/avaliable tiles. (When I get home tonight I will see if I have a de-bug... I play on a PC, but post from my MAC laptop). Oh yea, the Torians love to place influence bases by all capital planets.. is there a reason for that?
Nasarog
Problem with the mini viewer.. after cultural flip.. blue trapezoids appear for every time you try to zoom in/out. Not sure if the problem persists after reload..... I will find out later tonight or tomorrow when I play next. During the summery screen, when looking at planetary production, sometimes the planets disappear when looking at the whole list. The planets are there, but there is not tiny graphical icon representing the planets.
Weird AI placement of influence starbases is still there. Miniturization appears to work fine. PQ doesn't always equal the avaliable tiles. AI IS smarter. The game feels different. Somekind of Nano robots = 10% research bonus (never seen that before). Game smotther, but feels a little bit slower (not sure why).
Damn god work boys. I await your final product. I would love to see a game where you can have 40 races.. B5 vs. Star Trek vs. Star Wars vs. Gal Civ2. Man, in a gigantic galaxy.. with seperate tech trees, it should be interesting.
Not really. We went through this with GalCiv1 and it was always a right along with requests for tons of options to control minor behavior. It becomes a never-endign time sink. In GalCiv1, the minors colonized, invaded, expanded, etc. to the point where the galaxy was sometimes dominated by minors (not often, but it was possible and did happen occasionally). This
Frogboy. I realise that minors "work as designed", is there a way to redesign them a bit so they could play a slightly larger role in the game?
Looks like it is fixed. Hooray.
Oh man.. just found this in my old posts... I still stand by what I said... But is there anyways to delete old posts?
All good suggestions. My point is, we need them to be more proactive. In the game I was describing last night, lo and behold the I-League appeared (I was happy) and they lasted a whole 5 turns (sad again). The minors need to be able to culturally flip a few neighboring worlds, build some good fleets and truely defend themselves. Maybe even invade a world or too. But at the moment their AI is weird. So, here is an example. The Snathi are fighting the Humans, and they a
I never play with the planet bonus trait, but when I am neutral (as I am in alot of games) in this new version it is almost spot on. SO what I have noticed is that 1 tile (of use) is lost per 10 PQ quality (not in all cases). It's getting better.
Yea, but the problem is... I give them planets in their system, but they just don't expand. I have been playing since the day it came out. I've played hundreds of games, and only once do I remember the minors doing anything of consequences. that's just not enough. One more thing... there needs to be a way to tell the AI to GTFO of your sphere of influence, it is obvious what it is trying to do.... I see the new algorithm where it is massing it's forces before attackin
And now for the gratuitous bump. Save the minors.
The game is almost there. SO damned close. Guys, please fix the minors. They are sitting targets. Barely any offense, poor defense and they sit on a pretty piece of property. Start them slow, but let them invade a little, and flip planets a little, maybe a bonus or two so they can stand up to the big boys. Let them vote as a group. All the minors act as one vote on the council ala B5, or something like that. I feel so bad for them. They need help.<
So far, it isn't. I am playing Neutral, and most of the planets are correct, but not all, but so far they are only off by 1 that I noticed on my planets.
I have found 3 bugs. All 3 old I think. Neutral Civs still do not correctly display the # of tiles vs. planet quality. On re-boot, some tiles shift and appear over unlikey surfaces. Mutiple minors share a raceicon.
Damn, stardock... good update. Stormbringer, go home and play something else.
So, extending ship range through influence starbases.. not very smart. The AI loses it's mind when I build an influence starbase anywhere near a border. I build economic starbases to extend range, or try to take resources early on. This is one thign that doesn need addressing, if only to reduce the amount of needless wars.
tweek to the AI - placement of influence starbases (by AI) gives us a dialogue resembling a threat to remove with consequences and an ability to just threaten the AI if/when we chose to do so. Tweek to DIplomacy - ability to break alliances for whatever reason we want. - ability to enforve alliance when I am attacked.
Has the weird placement of Influence starbases been addressed at all? I saw a cute response about sharing Yor tunes, and McDonalds in Moscow. Problem is, when I build them, and if they are in my influence sphere (used to keep their influence away), the AI will completely lose it and start threatening me like crazy and eventually declare war. I am unable to threaten or declare war without attacking. Even if we have good relations, I end up getting attacked. I an unable to ask for the
S1Genocide- So, now you qualify your statements. Let me throw a small rant your way. I can see where you are coming from and I respect it. Civ3 was almost a disaster. All the patches and expansions only made it slighter better. Moo3... well that almost brought tears to my eyes. On one hand it took alot of what I loved from the past (starcontrol, ascendancy, pax imperia etc) and integrated it into a game.. but they half assed everything and the game was a buggy bastard (cra
I will be very honest here. With each update, my lists get reduced. I have never felt the need to make outright complaints. If I felt really passionately about something, I would express it. I am just fascinated by the mechanism that let's one frustrated user completely invalidate less game changing concerns from other users. A spammer/hater/whatever 'causes such a stir. Frogboy/Draginol, you've got my cash. No, the game is not perfect, and I am not somehow fooling myself int
kblore... you missed my point. WHo is s1genocide... that frogboy makes a unique post addressing his concerns?? do you get it? how is he different then any of us.... we paid same as him, but only negative posts get addressed??? I am confused here.
s1genocide... who are you?? what makes you so important that a slightest whim of yours warrants a response for frogboy/draginol....???? I have posted plenty and never get a responce. I paid for my game just like you. I ask for things and get ignored on a regular basis. What makes you so special, and what qualifies your opinion as anything more then a god damned whine??? dood.. go play something else... space empires 5 or something.. jesus.. this is
I have alot of questions, but one in particular that drives me nuts. What poses the AI to build an influence starbase in the middle of my territory, when they complain about the slightest "build up" that they percieve from me? (I am playing 1.2). I mean, I am unable to remove it without a war, so is it a sign from them that they want war???
they need to activate ALL of the buildings in the files... they have alot of inactive buildings...
