Yup same problem on the downsizing of units. Happened to a saved campaign pre-1.05.016. CTDs happening if I alt-tab whether in fullscreen mode or not and its also random. Another problem is when i go into tactical battles, randomly, the screen will be all whitish. I don't see the mouse cursor but the ui is still clickable (albeit me doin it blindly) and the sounds are there. I have to alt-tab out and quit the game and enter the saved game and the battle again.
