there is improvement for sure. Would be nice if the game would use my 4 cores more efficiently though ( yeah I know that's a tall order). 1 core tends to get maxed out or nearly maxed out.

I'd take greater visual diversity over visually customizing units. Age of Wonders or Heroes of Might and magic did just fine without visual customization.

The AI cheats really bad. Been playing a default normal game and the AI regularly insta-builds buildings and armies at little to no cost to itself. One turn I'm leading the faction power rankings and the next the AI is suddenly kicking in my door and proclaiming "I'm here to chew salted pork and kick ass...and I'm all out of salted pork".
