Not yet anyway. Yea but in rare cases i have made copius use of the "raise terrain" spell to access them if needed. last game I needed to do that to get to Tarth which spawned on the island for the conquest victory. pain in the butt but it was doable.
I really, really, REALLY think that the worst thing about Fallen Enchantress is that a game can be totally ruined by an army coming from nowhere. I always play with builds that can deal with this kind of shit as early as turn 50-60, and I still lose cities because I did not have any of my main stacks near a city attacked by an beastly monster stack. I do not give a fuck whether the monsters treat the AI the same way they tre

39, I was always more into RTS not TBS but did like Alpha Centari, GalCiv and GalCiv2, (Didn't play Civ until 4 and didn't like it much... Civ 5 was even worse - game play never sucked me in like AC or the GalCiv's ) my RTS resume is too long to list. it's actually shorter to list the games I didn't play. I tend to favor Paradox's games but do like the Total War Series too. The perfect game for me would be

Build order in your city should look something like the following - exploit nearby resources, (shards, orchards, farms, mines etc) there are usually 1 or 2 of those, Resources would include pier's for river sites and logging camp for forest. next you will want a pioneer (by then you should have scouted a suitable second city location.) Third you will want a production enhancing building (workshop or similar) then you will either need a

I agree... Bring it on... Based on what I've seen so far from last nights game on Challenging, I'm going to have to move up a difficulty notch or two to get a challenge. removing the autobuild bug, the difficulty rounding and keeping roaming monsters close to home has really nerfed the AI.

I still use bow's extensivly. relativly cheap and with the higher techs still do some damage. plus against elementals and dragons my sword/spear troops are almost helpless.

AI agressivness in 1.00 is denfinately not looking at power rating's. two recent game experiences.. both on challenging - first game I was consistantly ranked at #2 but about half the power ranking of Kraxis which had one city on my North-west border. AI never attacked me and I was able to build and take out all the opposing empires for a diplomatic victory. It was a challenging game but not bad, I was taking my time and trying to get as many dragons into
Anyways back to the subject. Tuidjy I sympathize with the crashes. They come fairly quick when you reload from a save too many times. Obviously with your research into alternate turns this becomes common
I've found after a crash or two it's ususally benefical to do a full shutdown and restart of my computer before replaying. I'm running a fairly high end gaming Laptop (2 yr old Asus G73Hj
I use "Raise land" to get rid of some swamps around Blackstead. This gives me an idea, and I get rid of some swamps between a river and a forest in the West. One of the tile turns into a fertile 3/3/2.
OK thats cool... I hadn't even considered using raise land for that purpose... could that have been what the AI did to you earlier????

I'm going to disagree to the point that city spam is the only viable strategy, At least on settings below challenging anyway. (I suspect on the higher setting it is likely the only consistantly viable strategy to win.) I've seen the AI in my games (usually on challenging or normal) do very well with only 3~4 cities, you can keep your power rating high enough to fend off the AI from declaring war and focus on either a research or quest based victory.&nbsp
Do the AI bribe each other to go to war with factions they are going to war with? It's something that I can do, pay loads of gildar / influence to get the AI to attack another nation. Do the AI just have loads of money to spare and bribing each other to go to war?
this is what I attribute the random wierd dog-piling from the AI to be.
Quoting Fistalis, reply 16atter the AI will join a war against you no matter how good your relations are. Diplomacy is borked. That is not true. Welcome to stardock, . [e digicons]*_*[/e] AI behavior is very typical of Frogboy style. it takes some getting use to and yes... all other AI standards are now renedered useless. just wait to the first patch when you have to relearn how to play the game because Frogboy has taken all the savegames from the last couple months and taylored the AI to mimic all the expert player exploits and styles of play. basicly you have to relear

All the races you've created are in there. Delete what you wish, though I suggest changing the suffix on a race to OLD, instead, just in case you make a mistake. Getting rid of custom sovereigns is much easier. Just right-click on the sovereign's icon on the left side of the screen after you select New from the m

I'm also a veteran of Civ 4 (didn't bother with 5) and Gal Civ 2 I would put the learning curve more toward the Gal Civ 2 than Civ 4. I've been playing for about a month on the beta's and so far every game I've played has been very different. It took me about 3 ~ 4 games to get the basic's down... I'm still trying to figure out all the cost benefit of choices... there are just way too many possible paths. I havn't even touched

Couple tips I learned the hard way Playing on Easy for the first time to get a feel for the game mechanics and how the AI/monsters behave is not a bad idea. (the harest level to get clobbered once also not bad advise) Don't build cities or outposts near Dragons or monsters you can't handle as they will go after your cities don't use mana for tactical spells friviously, (i.e if you can take your opponent without using a spell

yea, I've noticed a few issues with autoturn... I attributed it to lag in my computer processing not catching up on commands. I've had a few cases where is't been an annoyance but nothing an autosave can't fix usually. I have also turned off Autoturn.
