10. The wildlands played no part, cause I was not in a position to enter one. The one near me was closed by a gate (is that the start of the master quest?)
its one of the them. There are at least 2 master quests available. The one with the gate is one of the easier ones.
13. The "when idle" bonuses are just annoying, and not fun for me
They would have been useful if it wasn't for the "all units/buildings must take a minimum of 3 turns
You seem to have a very narrow definition of what it means to be a "mage". You seem to define mage as a nuker, but a mage is anyone who uses magic to achieve their goals. It is possible to make a sovereign without magic, you know. Gandalf didn't throw fireballs at people. He used his will to buff himself up, and kick ass. Sauron was the most powerful wizard on the planet, and he armored up and knocked people silly (in the movie, anyway).
In real life a piercing weapon like an arrow or a pike would do more damage against mounted units, because the unit has a higher speed. Your alternative would be much better than my suggestion, but i guess it would be too difficult to implement.
An arrow would not be more effective against a horse mounted unit. And even if your point had a point, it assumes the horse is riding towards the archer and not away from or in
From my observation, when the last monster is killed the "zone of control" of the elemental lord disappears (if you kill the elemental lord, the zone remains until the last monster is killed IIRC). Zone of control normally matter for recovering land from the cataclysm (it cannot be settled otherwise)... however for some reason elemental lord lands are recovered from the get go, so I can just sneak in settlers and build settlement there... and actually they often get great es
I dislike penalties like this to enforce variety. This would not happen in real life (where any hero worth his salt would jump on a horse if he/she found one).
Good argument... and for some reason the hero CAN'T find one unless your civilization invests quite a lot of money into learning horse riding. Even if the sov comes across some pastures with wild horses he can't get any until the culture as a whole adopts them...<
Somehow, every game that has colony spam issues suffers from the same thing. Using manufacturing to create new population out of thin air (without actually using cloning). That all being said, I disagree with the main assertion of this post... especially as of beta 4. You can't just settle everywhere you want, you literally can't. The land must first recover from the cataclysm before you can settle in new locations.
actually maging sucks beyond casting buffs and heals, melee is win in this game. Not to mention that without a massive sprawling empire you cannot even afford to use spells in combat or summoning
Researching horse riding is fairly expensive and you only get it later in the game. Introducing unacceptable penalties to using one isn't exactly "balancing" it, its balanced against its rarity and difficulty of acquisition. I don't understand why mounts provide prone avoidance though. A mount can be knocked prone, and a person can be knocked off of a mount more easily then if they stand on their own two feet. Getting hit by a dragon? Well you can't fall do
I am shocked and amazed. Not only do I agree with the OP, I agree with every single word. Literally! There is not a single concept or point he had that I could point to that was not pure brilliance!
I was playing along on v0.952 and winning a war when the enemy contacted me to tell me I am winning... and no he isn't surrendering. Instread he will destroy everything to deny me it. And by everything I mean everything. Instnatly every single city disappeared, millions of citizens burned down their homes and then commited suicide, every mine, every farm, every remote outpost... You would think it would take some time or at least someone would say "hey, how about welcoming
When a combat unit attacks pioneers they should capture them rather then kill them.
I am ready To Crush my Enemies, See Them Driven before me, and to hear the Lamentation of their Women! However I cannot declare war on them because of non-aggression pacts... Which I cannot break. I also cannot tell how long they are going to last and I looked everywhere
By the way, it's quite ridiculous that the only source of food in the game at the moment seems to be grain.
Wild game adds "grain" so apparently the sov is a member of peta and the subjects are being all sneaky about it :P
The first post contains false information. Your data is not in: \documents\my games\stardock\fallenenchantress but in \documents\my games\fallenenenchantress
Please allow a method to respec a city between town, fortress, and conclave. Naturally it should involve the loss of specialized buildings.
Steal spirit kills henchmen it is cast on but does not grant you a magic level.
Path of X says that it unlocks traits for the sov that relate to it... which are they? Actually, can we have a development tree showing all possible sov trait and which requires what?
Steal spirit sacrifices a champion's life and has your sov eat their soul to steal one of their spellcasting ranks. Awesome spell, deliciously abusable (but not practical outside of sandbox style play) But for some odd reason its a LIFE spell rather then a DEATH spell. Meaning only "good" sov's can use it. Every other "sacrifice" type spell is a death spell and so should this one be. Speaking of, I am going to try a sov with only book of life and see if I can min max i
Farmland is best, by far. Soil is a bit odd to increase via cultivation of wheat farms. (since its the other way around) And soil is related to wood production too which is "materials" in the this game. Food should remain as food.
I just have to say that the most hated words in this game for me are: "when idle"..... I am building an empire, I dont want my cities to be idle!!!!!
This would actually not be at all bad if it wasn't for the stupid "3 turn minimum to build anything" requirement.
Don't make it 1 turn, make multiple items completable in a single turn, so big cities with attached resources/spells etc. can compete with many smaller cities.
Agreed with the sentiment, your phrasing was off. Don't JUST lower the 3 turn limit to 1 turn limit. Allow as many items to finish in a turn as you have production for. If I make 50 hammers in a city and I queued 3 items costing 20 hammers
QUEEN PROCIPINEE is not a summoner. 1. Summoning sucks. 2. She is the perfect combat mage (edit, I meant tank) thanks to her crown. I created a gender flipped version of her, stacked him with every single buff spell in the game, and had a great old time winning everything with nothing by my sov. 3. amarian blood is awesome for combat too as you gain a monopoly on shards the bonuses far outpace the drawback.
Its best to just let every champion have a combat level and a Governor level. CXP is gained in combat, gives combat levels, and those allow combat related upgrades (including the free per level increases in combat related stats that don't require you to pick a perk). GXP is gained by governing a city, gives governor levels, and those allow city management related improvements. And yes, a level 20 governor who is level 1 combatant should be a pushover in c
Why would you want to build one in the first place?
Your godly sov is off soloing the world. adventurring guilds let your useless champions level up so they can gain spell casting so you can harvest their souls to boost your sov
So, i sent a bunch of crash reports and corrupt save files. Should I expect a reply or what?
