Looking good Major! Can't wait to see more!
CaptJono
The Borg colony ship was kind of a joke. It is not final, and was something he just threw in there.
Thank you for the updates Major! Also, have you considered porting vessels from Star Trek: Legacy? Since it's a newer game than Homeworld or Bridge Commander, it may contain better models. Just a thought. :-)
it was bigger then the constitution class starship and that was a heavy frigate.
Constitution class vessels were listed as heavy cruisers during that era, btw.
If the Mod Team needs a video editor for movies and such, PM me. I'm available.
*Edited* Nevermind
Keep up the good work Devs!
One thing that is not being mention here, is that the Movie Era Constitution class and Miranda class vessels actually used a "ball turret" style phaser system. Which we had seen being used in a pulse mode from both Starship Enterprise and Starship Reliant (Star Trek II: TWOK). However it iis noted in "Mr. Scott's Guide to the Enterprise" that the turret system was modifiable to both pulse and beam. One of the major problems that this debate is facing is lack of screen showing of both variants
don't know if it's just me or not but after about half an hour of gameplay my game crashes... not sure if it's the mod or my comp... it didn't do it with the reg game so i don't know

Mine is doing this as well. Gives me a minidump, but it's not so mini at 5.67 MB Let me know if you want to see the dump, devs.
Are you both running Vista by any chance?
Are you guys messing with the Excelsior's Probes? I know on one of them the scripting is not complete and if you even mouse over it, the game will crash.
also: is there a way we can edit it so the pirates keep the old frigates and the TEC get the new ones?
We're still working on getting the scripting to work with that one.
'cause im missing the saber and sovereign class i think
This release did not include either of those two ships, his Saber is not quite done yet neither is the Soverign. He wants to perfect them a little more before putting them out.
A quick question
Alrighty, I attempted to replace the tech:frigate:light lines in the Galaxy file and nothing happened. I tried editing both the Mod->GameInfo->Galaxy file and the Main/GameInfo/Galaxy file. Neither one gave the results I was looking for. Then again, I tried turning them all into Pirates.
Looks awesome...as usual! :-) I haven't had the time to tinker with those lines in the scripting...hopefully today.
Derbal213, Those suggestions did not work, however I belive I have found what will, I'll have to give it a shot later, it actually runs about half way up that file, and also runs half way with what you said. I believe a new player/player file must be added, maybe copying the entire TEC information, making them non-playable, then naming them something else, finally editing these lines: condition type "PlanetOwnerIsMilitia" param "" owner "PlanetOwner" colon
Another question for you is: Does anyone know where the scripting for the minor races files are located? It'd be nice to maybe leave the uncolonized planets' defense forces as: all pirate, or maybe original TEC ships. It just doesn't feel right taking Starfleet ships against other Starfleet ships. :-) I'll keep looking Thanks!
Either way, Star Trek gaming is about to enter a new era and for the first time Trekies will have something to truly be proud of as a proper implimentation of Trek.
Anyone ever notice that Modders usually do more justice to the Trek genere than the pros do? Keep it up fellas!
I could probably work on the fighters for the time being, I have some pretty detailed schematics of them. ;-)
...Well that's a converstation stopper if I ever heard one. LOL Just kidding. Thanks for the info! I origionally was not going to attempt texturing, I was just going to model, and see if anyone wants to use my models, however, now I think I'll give texturing a shot too.
Nice Work!
I hear you, I'm not a texture kind of guy! I'll crank out moddels all day long, but my texturing skills are even more limited than my modeling skills! LOL
Geeze, I didn't even see that option there. Thank you very much! Just messed it up to the size of a small planet, but, it's better than it was before. LOL! Thank you again!
That makes some sense, I have not applied any textures, I'm just trying to get the moddeling figured out! Thanks for the heads up on that! I have been monitoring your other posts, between the SoSA thread and the Trek Comming To Sins thread, very enlightening! Lastly, would you happen to know off hand how to re-scale these ships? I have tried editing properties in XSI, edited the bounding box, edited the ship itself, and lastly tried editing the size text editor and no matter
Update: I have gotten it to work now, it turns out that I had modified a couple of selections during the Merge process. So the whole model is there now. Thanks again! Still no idea on the black model thing, tho. :(
Thanks for the tutorial! :) It really helped me out. I did exactily what you said, but now I have a new problem and was wondering if you had a similar one when you first tried this. The image is below. I have this problem on this model and another, despite selecting ALL of the objects, when rendering it leaves objects out. Any ideas? P.S. I'm still working on the black model syndrome too. [img]http://static4.filefront.com/images/personal/c/CaptJono/134055/ewlgatuvzt.jpg[
Hey I just tried another model and it's almost like every piece of the model is rendered from the center coordinate, so literally the entire ship is built from the center and it's not assembled properly. Any ideas now?
