I haven't had a chance to play this patch a ton because things like work and sleep keep getting in the way, but I have had some ideas to make magic and shards more awesomer. Shard Spells: There should be more spells that play off of shards. 1. Shard Scrying . This spell could have several power levels. The first would just reveal a shard with in a certain radius of the sovereign. The spells could go up in power until

There is a reason Krarg's dynasty is so robust.
Some concepts are just better left abstract for the sake of fun. It may seem cool when its just the sovereign to arrange conjugal visits for; but imagine arranging nooky time when your dynasty is 8 generations deep.
I'm not sure I'm understanding what you mean here. I have 3 children and in all 3 cases I was out of the country when conception would have taken place and yet my wife says they're my children. I simply integrated this same system
I haven't seen any ore in this build. Naturalist or no.
Oh yes! With an alarm function!
I'm pretty sure that if you build a city in your own terraformed land it doesn't cost essence. The essence is to make the land fertile again. Also in the next patch there will be many changes to unit movement and city sizes. I'm actually quite a fan of this system for building the cities. I find it refreshing and fun. As for the roads situation there is a whole thread on it here: https://forums.elementalgame.com/376729
Unit moves will be increasing in the the next update. Plus the naval combat in general will probably be flushed more as the beta goes on. Personally i would like to see a lot more types of ships. It would be great to be able to design them like your regular units.
Personally, I'd rather not have to micromanage the "nookie runs". I'd prefer to just assume they hooked up on weekends and vacations and leave it at that.
I totally agree. Your generals could have babies away from towns in the Total War series too. It just makes things easier if you don't have to keep the sovereign and their significant other together all the time.
It would be cool to be able to summon magical creatures as mounts. The sovereign could cast a spell to change a tile on the map into a herd of these other worldly creatures or transmute a herd of horses into the new herd. It could be researched through the magic tree, and maybe limited to one 'extra planar' mount per faction. We could have dread steeds, fire grizzlies, crystal taloned raptors of the ice plane. The mounts could also change the attack type of the unit it
I could see the snathi as a non player race. Maybe interact with little neutral settlement. One could trade them tasty treats for shineys
The prestige worked to get people to come back to the city. This was actually a city I had liberated from the AI so the buildings in it were a little weird. I think i built the slum as an experiment. Even so, the city is still eating the next 133 people that come into it. Apparently the former residents found it so distasteful that they left something behind to make sure that no one will ever live there again. Something dark, from beyond our worl
I'm really hurting for information on basic game mechanics. Is there any decent documention or web pages that give details on what the stats do and which are most important, what essense is, what spell points are used for, etc.?
Essence is your own personal Mana type. You use it to purify the land and birth wolf pups. Currently you can only regain it by putting points in essence when you level up. I believe spell points w
Stardock said they were toying around with the idea of having building provide adjacency bonuses. What if building a house next to a garden cut its food requirement in half? Or having a tech that would merge 4 single tile houses into a larger complex that gives a population bonus? I usuallly don't have a huge issue with housing/garden spam. I create one or two cities to provide food and use them to build up my other cities. I also build just enough housing to get to
So can a Kingdom never grow to be an Empire?
That depends on how you define an empire. The Empires (big E) in this game are made up of mostly artificial beings. There is one human faction who have adopted the mindset of these beings. A kindom could become an empire (small e). A Kingdom could control huge tracts of land. They could take this land by force, conquering or absorbing smal
I think it would be neat to be able to name the armies we put together. It would help give each player some unique flair in multiplayer as well as possibly making it easier to manage armies. It would also be nice to have units assigned to each other so they can move in and out of cities together. It can be a pain if you are moving a large army around to get them back out of a city after you conquer it. Maybe add something like the fleet manager is SotS. It wouldn't hav
I think the kingdoms are all pretty much human, but the Empire are mostly artificial races. Still, I think it would be nice to be able to change the colours/textures on armor. Like allowing armor to have textures that are metal or something more organic looking like dragon hide or carapace. The stats would be the same but each unit could have a unique feel. The same could go for weapons. Also the ability to put decals or coat of arms on shields and cloaks.
I only skimmed most of the previous posts, so if this has been mentioned be fore feel free to ignore/shout me down. An idea for a building: What if there was a building that turned horses into a small amount of food. Not much, but more than a garden. This might help out on random maps where there is a chance of not having any tasty resources nearby. This could have draw backs, such as that particular horse node doesn't contribute to cavalry
I have seen the same thing in the games I've played with the thief leader. When I tried the naturalist leader the ore was a middling distance away. Close enough to see, but far enough that I had to spend a few turns to get into optimal city range.
When I was playing earlier tonight I had a city with negative population. I noticed i couldn't train from the city and when I looked at the training screen it told me i had -138 people in the city. When i hovered over the bar that tells me how long till the city upgrades the text said something like 4 million out of 758 people were in the city. I'm currently at work, but will try to upload some screens and maybe the save file when I get home.
I just had it happen to me. It looked like after I put the points into health the unit was still around, even though the battle report said they took lethal damage.
OK, I just hadn't seen it in other games. I usually make sure to run a game in windowed mode if i know i'm going to be doing a lot of other non-game stuff on the screen. Thanks for the answer!
I have dual monitors on my computer. When playing Elemental and I try to scroll to the left I can simply move the cursor out of the game and onto the other screen. Thankfully, I can still navigate by zooming out to the cloth map and zooming back in where i want. I double checked to make sure I was in full screen mode. This isn't necessarily a problem, since i can use it to change my music or load a web page with out alt+tab. Maybe this could be a toggle-able
I have the same issue. It makes it a real pain when trying to get stacks out of cities.
