A quick way of testing the hardware would be to use a linux live cd,if it is able to boot and run it would suggest your masterboot record is corrupted or you have logon installed or perhaps some other program that is causing conflict,as i see it you have two options reformat using the dell recovery options or remove the harddrive and run it thru an external case and attempt a disk check to repair any errors,personally reformat i think will be your best bet,as for finding a use for it why not ins

First off it's never a good idea to put all your eggs in one basket when it comes to security regardless of any reviews that give them 5 stars or not, it's better to use a seperate maker for each type so as an example windows for a firewall,avg for antivirus,spyware terminator for realtime spyware scanner,which by the way i can't find a reputable review of the suite you have purchased which straight away sets the alarm bells ringing ,you did'nt purchase it because a popup said you were infected

It's 50/50 whether it would've worked but holding F8 on reboot will bring up the DOS menu which includes safe mode or in your case "last known good config" which may have helped,if you ever get to do a system restore and you get the usual no changes choose another point,give this a go it'll save you pulling your hair out...lol...,it made system restore obsolete for me WWW Link

EDIT: Stay away from any upgrade edition as it requires XP to be installed, my experience upgrading over XP (shame on Microsoft for forcing this on people) has been it stinks, don't do it. There seem to be loopholes for that. <br/

Can you not change the catagories to include more similar apps as an example : Graphics tab can include shortcuts as follows : paint,all stardock app shortcuts,webshots or some other sim wallpaper changer etc Office tab includes: works,notepad,calc,excel,outlook,adobe,sticky notes etc you get the general idea Failing that the link below is most probably a long shot but here it is anyway

Just clicked on msnupdate!@#@.exe in your post and it brought up outlook ..lol.. c is the drive it's stored in open it and look for a what i assume is a folder called "users" with subsequent subfolders and delete it,if however the the folder is not apparent as soon as you unhide drive c then look inside the msn folder inside program files and then look in the sub folder msncore files,basicly look for any wording that is in the line you provided "Users\kim\AppData\Roaming\MSN6\msnupdate

There is another option to threads that go array,"the admin post a warning reminding those in the thread that things are way off topic and if such activity continues the thread will be locked" ,if the thread is not too bad the offending,flaming posts can be deleted then a warning put up to stay on topic or else,tho however this can only be done if the thread is not too long into the crap slinging as the admin do have to get some sleep therefore are not around at certain times to can the crap so

If the icon name is long abbreviate it i.e My Documents changed to Doc's etc to get the name to fit inside the actual tab stretch dock across screen use both sliders to get what you need,again in some cases you'll have to abbreviate,i use thin & translucent & then adjust the sliders so it's narrow then i stretch the width of the whole dock as for the icons i don't bother abbreviating them anymore as i don't notice the dots you speak of any longer until now of course grrrrrrrr lmao

xubuntu to me is'nt anywhere near as well developed as ubuntu or kubuntu,both these last two are developed by the same team if i'm not mistaken ?? ,ubuntu is most probably more widley used than kubuntu,i just got it to check it out tho when it comes to linux i know jack & intend to teach myself as soon as i get another comp to plonk em on,but i like the blue wallpaper of kubuntu lmao (yes i'm aware it can be changed in ubuntu p)

The only thing i can think of (not sure if it's the same for just a std dock as i don't use them and not tabbed) is that the left side of screen has'nt been deselected as a hot spot for tabbed dock,basicly moving the mouse to the hot spot will activate the dock,is that any help or way off base..lol.. you can find HOT SPOT in tabbed settings

Signing up to the ubuntu site allows you to get it free on cd,all you do is fill out the request form ,it took me 3 weeks to receive them as i ordered 5,the cd includes the live & install version. Would'nt hurt to get kubuntu as well it's a good replacement for windows

I've had alienware themes on my comp and they were ok with WB & IP as the themes from alienware are made from stardock ,tho i have objectdesktop and the alienware themes are just that THEMES,so to apply you'll need theme manager,but by rights the blind should show up in WB and the icons in IP but i can't remember precisely The only other thing it could be is you have a theme not made by stardock then you will get probs in which case you have to make a choice,delete WB & IP or the alien

Can't say OD 1.9 tabbed does that with my comp,assuming you mean that after you've loaded it and it's sitting there idling that your cpu is at 100 % untill you kill OD tabbed,the only spikes i get is when i clik an icon and that program executes but that's not OD causing the spike it's the proggy i just actuated,i have one large tabbed dock across the top and one smaller one at bott right,my guess is there's another underlying problem somewhere in your comp as once OD is loaded it should just id

You can download OD-1.9 as a .exe file that can be saved to rom for reinstallation if you have a comp go belly up and need to re-install,Bichur put up a link in another post about 1.9 just in the last week on where to download without SDC which i had totally forgot about and have now forgotten where to get it...lol.. i'm going on a download OD hunt later you can join me if you want just make sure your shotgun has a scope.
