TBS gaming is really riding a nice little high right now. Awesome news!
Not just TBS, but strategy games in general. Another game to look forward to this year.
That's what I'm here for. AI is a big field, and there's still a lot of stuff I have no clue about, but I try to do my part the best I can to counter a lot of the public ignorance about it. Unfortunately, a lot of the information is tied up intimately with some complex math and doesn't simplify well, but I'll try my best.
It does not help either that what you are attempting to create or emulate artificially h
The ONLY engine I'm aware of that is close to existing that could do next-gen is what Uber is building. And even there, I'd imagine they'd have to support 32-bit which means they'll have to severely limit those players (either smaller maps or fewer units). But Uber's engine, I suspect, is massively multithreaded so it can put together a proper job system for parallel rendering/physics/path finding/etc. &nbs
I agree with what has already been said before, keep on polishing FE. I have found one of the more interesting things is the story thread between the Elemental and Galactic Civilizations universes.
I have enjoyed those types of games myself, it just takes finding the right people to play with, or finding the right kind of MOBA, such as some obscure ones that I played where always fun because they did not attract huge droves of people which inevitably leads to problems such as Heavenfall mentioned.
Very nice, it will be nice to eventually not have to do everything by hand with the xml files.
Any chance this will be available to download as a PDF or ePub in the future?
That would be very nice if it is possible.
Yeah once you get 4+ of ANY shard the game basically breaks down because your spells become so powerful. This isn't just about fire shards, earth water and air have really strong options as well. 100 mana to re-make a shard sounds like a lot but for the bonus you get over the rest of the game it is nothing at all. Realistically, given the mana values we have now, I'd say you're either looking at around 700+ mana for one sh
I find that it would interesting as well, that is one thing that I like about Distant Worlds, you could have the AI take over portions of your empire, or the whole thing, so you could concentrate on the aspects you wanted to. Especially being able to take over my military, I do not mind doing the diplomatic aspects, but the war aspects can get to be a little tedious.
I would also like a spell to salt the earth. If I can't defend an area, I would like to make it barren so that no one else can use it. Currently I just lay down a city and then destroy it or let the monsters feast. A spell using this old mechanic would be a nice salvage.
I ended up creating a spell like that, changes the terrian type to barren. Called it Drain Land, gives mana in exchange for making the land unusabl
what about the quest that spawns an air elemental shard - that would be somehing to look at.
Thank-you, that worked. Strange that I had attempted something similar before, because I thought that game might have a mechanism for creating shards. I guess that I probably did not have everything in the gamemodifier tags correct. Thanks again Glowing_Ember for alerting me to that quest.

I have been attempting to create a spell that will place new resources on the map, such as shards. But I have been unable to get it to work, I have gotten as far as being able to place the art object for the resource on the map with CreateWorldProp, but no farther, it just ends up being a piece of scenery, not a functional resource. I am wondering if trying to do that is even possible, and if it might be possible, how could it be achieved? Thank-you for your time.</
I have been having problems with my custom race's techtree. At first it was crashing because of a broken link between two techs due to using the techtree editor. Now I am getting crashes when starting up a new game, and going to the techtree for the first time after the quarterly report is shown for the first time also. I am at a loss as to what to do. I can use a different t
I was never that active on the forums. I still haunt the forums occasionally, reading threads, posts and whatnot. It is odd, because I have been thinking about starting to play GalCiv 2 again. Scoutdog, my first Stardock game was Galactic Civilizations I.[e digicons]|-)[/e]
Wow, this brings back a lot of memories. TA was the first computer game I ever played.
Isn't there some option for an alien tech victory where the AI will try to reach the tech victory before you and keep you from it?
