I have the same problem with Deskscapes saying it needs a suitable MPEG2 codec for some of my downloaded Deskscapes. Some worked before switching to Windows 10 from 7. I have followed the advice in different queries posted here as well as the FAQ's. I ask for help now because I just can't stand the "can't play..." dialogs any more. I have been to the Microsoft store to DL the MPEG2 code and then used the "install now" button but that does not Make Deskscapes work.
RedneckDude said that Theda and Wiz "...were childhood sweethearts...". I do not know how we, as human beings, get over losing a loved one. Personally, I know we never truly do. Love is such a strong bond. How do we do it? Move on, I mean. I came to part of the answer, for myself, once. You want to die. The pain from your loss hurts that much. Your loved one does not want you to take your life because they lost theirs. To truly honor the
Wow. Thanks DaveBax for the quick and informative reply. As far as using the term "file explorer" I thought I was just interchanging terms for the meaning of Windows Explorer. As of now I am running Windows 7 PRO since Windows 10 will not display on my 40" Samsung. (I am having issues with the shop that put my so-called "custom" PC together right now. Hope to have all resolved soon.) I feel bad about what I wrote about WB skinners.
I have tried that so many times and it never works. I have gotten the windows explorer to change color by...Modify Style/Backgrounds. But those backgrounds are so UGLY. I have tried that method by attempting a solid color but, that never works. I have created what I thought was the most solid color texture and making it as dark as I could...by making my own .tga file. But when applied it goes from a deep, dark brown to a very very light brown with a texture.
I won't be upgrading to my free version of Windows 10 until Windowblinds works with it. that's for sure.
Thanks. That's the one. I knew I liked it, already had it in my WB library.
Does anyone know the name of the WB skin shown in the Preview Shot for the Sysmetrix Skin CraftWork? This is a link to the pic of the WB skin I am referring to. https://www.wincustomize.com/explore/sysmetrix/2898/ Thanks.
Try deleting the DX Cache. C:\Users\"User Name"\AppData\Local\Stardock\DesktopX\WidgetCache The "User Name" in quotes is of course the windows account name on your pc. AppData is a hidden folder so you will have to set folders to show hidden system folders.
Thank you very much BigDogBigFeet! That worked.&nbs
I use the DX-Widget Mood Lighting on my desktop every winter season. When I started it this evening I pressed the auto-hide button by mistake when when placing the ON/OFF button into the lower right corner above the Taskbar, above the SYSTray/Clock. I can't bring it back. The SYSTray icon is there but it won't bring the button nor the Lights back. The Taskmanager says it is running. I have closed it via the systray and restarted the.exe file
Yes, I would like new EFFECTS also. Even if the current ones would have their colors changed such as from Blue to Red, etc. I would like to make them if someone could direct me to a Tutorial for EFFECTS and not for making cursors. Thanks to anyone who replies.
Thank you to everyone who replied. I truly appreciate your opinions and thanks for your time. Azdec
I have been thinking about getting CursorFX. I came to the forums to see if CursorFX can utilize CursorXP cursors. I have quite a few CursorXP themes and I was hoping that they played nice with CursorFX. The reason I am posting here is I've read several posts from people who had bad things to say about CursorFX. But the posts I read were several years old. I was hoping to get the opinions of Forum readers on their current take on CursorXP ver
I use dream files for Deskscapes. Sometimes the deskscape is also offered as a screensaver. All that I downloaded as screensavers functioned. Now, only one does. The others just show a blank screen. The screensavers worked on the current graphics drivers I am using. But, now they just don't work. Any ideas for a fix?
Hello Automan, Are you still working on Prometheus SLI? Since I am writing this in Oct., 2010 I was wondering if you have given up on your project. I saw the screenshots that are up on Wincustomize and I find your Prometheus DesktopX Theme the only one I would have liked to download and use in a long time. The screenshot(s) are awesome. Sincerely, Azdec
Is there a way, other than adding an individual skin or .DREAM or wallpaper as a FAVORITE, to a list in "My Account"? What I mean is perhaps the authors I like to check out their most recent work. A list of my favorite authors that links to their gallery, perhaps. I thought there used to be a clickable button that read something like, "Watch this Author" or something like that. I actually thought I had done something like this before but there is not
I was reading a tutorial on DesktopX and saw the example dialog box read "DesktopX Professional". Started "Impulse" and selected the Tab for "My Software" and saw Desktop X and DesktopX Professional were installed. I right clicked to open the containing folder and both took me to the same folder. I don't see an executable file for DesktopX Professional. Where is it? Should I uninstall DesktopX in the hope that DesktopX Professional will show u
Theme Manager dosen't show the cursors in the Applications section. I can change the cursors through the mouse properties dialog box. But the cursors don't show up in Theme Manager. They used to. Is there any way of telling Theme Manager where the cursors are located?
You two must be children. I asked a question to get tech support for a Window Blinds problem. Thanks for nothing.
There was an update to the Stardock WindowBlind Molten. I DL'd it. I let Windowblinds handle it rather than just saving the .wba file to my Desktop. Well, the dragon at the top of the Start Menu has disappeared. I DL'd the Molten.wba file again and applied it Same thing, no Dragon. I used WB to delete the Molten "Visual Style", restarted my PC and applied the .wba file. No joy. Where is the Dragon? Can anyone help me on this? Azdec
In the Change skin colors section go to the dropdown box at top and pick "show me system defined colors" option... then change windows background color. This will let u set any solid color.
Thank you VERY much! It was the "dropdown box" section I did not click on. I was unaware of it. This is exactly what I wanted! Thank you for your help and your time spent reading and replying to my query. Thanks to everyone in this thread for taking the time to reply.
I use WindowBlinds, and it at least recolored my backgrounds in explorer and whatnot in XP. It didn't apply an image, though, just an soldid color.
I had used Skin Studio before to change the windows explorer background from white to gray for any skin I wanted. Now I don't seem to remember how I did it. Can you post with an explanation on how you did it? I just want the solid color choice, not an image, like you said you where able to do. I have the most up-to-date ve
Maybe slightly off topic... What does the red check mark mean in the weather module. It shows up over the "sunshine" "cloudy" "moon", whatever. Is that to indicate the weather has been "checked" or what? I would prefer not to see it. If anyone has an answer, I would appreciate it. thanks.
