Regarding my problem in message #12....I noticed if I gave my user account admin permission, the menu appears on the dock and no error….looks like the docklet has a permissions problem with straight "user" accounts.

I added the Start Menu Docklet, but the menu appears under the start button on my task bar (task bar on top of screen - dock on bottom) not where my mouse is on the docklet....then an error "StartMenu helper file was injected but failed to take effect. Can not show start menu at this time, please try again"

After searching the Rage3d forums for similar topics, I came across a suggestion that has seemed to work. Call up the Catalyst Control Center, and in the "advanced" view, graphics settings tab, open the SMARTGART item. Then under the AGP Settings section turn off the Fast Write option and reboot. I've tried the MMC TV app on and off for a few days now with transparent WB skins (and latest RC build of WB) and haven't seen the bla

Reboot didn't help....I notice if I use a non-tranparent, non per-pixel skin, and start the app, it works fine....then I can tell WB to load a transparent skin and the picture still displays, but if I then shut down the TV app and restart it, the picture is black again. I don't use the Guide plus s/w...I could try excluding the MMC (if it's not already). I hate the thought of re-installing ATI s/w, it's such a PITA...they don't make it very

Whenever I fire up the TV app with my ATI 9600 I get a black screen. I'm running the latest WB 5 beta (from Nov 18th) and V9.08 of the ATI application. I'm pretty sure the TV app worked with the first beta of WB5, but I can't remember if I tried it or not. I know it works with the older WB4 stable version. More info....looks like it's only a problem with transparent or per pixel apha blended skins...older skins don't cause the problem.

Using the latest (g) beta of WB5 (actually 4.9). If I do anything that pops up a dialog box with a progress bar...for example download a large file, or move, copy a large amount of files (something that takes a minute or so) the progress bar shows fine as long as the dialog box has the main focus. However, if I click another window which only paritally hides the progress bar dialog, (say half the progress dialog shows behind the r

I can't get new skins to install by just clicking on them in Wincustomize.com and clicking the popup window. Even though they are listed in the WB directory, they don't apply when I click the popup, nor do they appear in the WB list of available skins. I have to right click and download the .WBA file to disk, then open the WB config and tell it to "load a skin from disk" and then it works.

I ended up having to make my stardock.net and activation email addresses the same...even though the addresses are supposedly "cross-linked" to both places. Stardock needs to check into their activation scheme a little better. Then, I had to copy the activate.exe file over to the WB directory to be able to apply any skins...but it's finally working. I notice it doesn't behave well with Yz Shadow, so I had to disable that. Thanks f

I have the latest Stardock Central installed and whenever I start it up it tells me there's a beta of WB5 available...however, when I try to "update" to it. IT first tells me it "can't auto archive WB5 because of a missing wb5.xml file (error 13)" but would I like to go ahead withthe installation anyway? When I click "yes" I get that it "failed to validate my subscription or product installation. Installation failed (9)" and "would I like to look at m

One thing you fail to mention in your Object Desktop pricing "rant" is that it's a "subscription"...you don't pay $50 and are then entitled to free upgrades of everything for life - you have to renew your subscritption yearly...so it's not like Stardock's revenue stream stops at $50. Also I agree with dogfacedboy...paying for a beta rubs me the wrong way. I'll more than likely buy OD+ when it's a bona-fide "release", and I'm an OD subscriber, so I'm not some cheap bastard who rails aga
