1. Run DMZ on your computers ip (if your router has that function - to open every single port to that ip) or 2. Try defaulting your router and modem and resetting them up

the athlon64 series overpowered the p4's :P. ususaly the model number ended up being almost the equivilant in pentium 4 mhz, so 3700 -> 3.7Ghz equivilancy (most likely a bit less). Single core works fine btw, im running on a p4 3ghz (530j prescott)+ 4870 512, everything maxed out (except aa) HF!

I had the same problem, saw somewhere else in another stardock game forum that theres like malware ruining the download. So what i did was download spybot search and destroy(free) and i let it scan and it found stuff. After it was done i started to redownload the update and it worked! :D Try that, should work.
