I grew up on MOO2. No other game has taken so much time of my life as MOO2. I doubt there will be another game in the future as well.

This game is like a drug. When one of my friends asked me, 'What that game is all about', I had no idea what to say. You mine some, you chop trees some, you craft some items, you hide from some monsters at night and just explore. And the game has a graphics like it was made in the early 90's. This one was present from the release. Good to report it though. It happens when you are in cloth map, go to the menus by pressing ESC, and then get back to the game. The zoom level appears to remain the same as it was before you entered menus, however the game wont display clothmap but detailed view as if you are zoomed in. This is why you need to zoom in, then zoom out to fix it as it makes game go to the clothmap display again. BTW ATI here, but I don't think this one is a hardware

Problem is, most of you people complaining didn't really bother or need to learn the real mechanic of the game other then go out and kill monsters to get gold. Now you need to. Basically, you are only now starting to learn the game. Besides, if you REALLY want to get 50 gold for killing wolf, wait for 1.09 patch. SD did announce that they will include an option on how much gold is earned from monsters in the next patch. Also, food was intended to be scarce resource, IIRC. It's post-ap

Random damage is a big turnoff for me. AoW has it and that was my biggest complaint for that game. Units in it had only stat ranges from 1-20 and it was still annoying system. The whole 1DN system basically turns tactics into a gambling game. I may have 200 defense and 10 hp while the enemy has only 10 attack and I STILL get single-shoted by it. So what do you do? At the moment you can see city production at the bottom of the screen when the level up window appears. However, this is NOT enough. Many times I expected to get new resources after my city reaches level 2 or 3 and I can't see them because the window blocks the way. For example, at the level 2 I expect a gold mine will be within my reach for that city. I need that city to get a gold production bonus but I don't know that because I don't see what's around my city and that kind of info isn't av

I think that children look so badass because of their ability to regenerate both mana and health in tactical combat. It makes dad/mom look bad. I actually modded my custom and core sovereigns to all have some degree of tactical mana/health regen. After that, children no longer look so overpowered. This affects AI as well so it not really cheating.

There is one more issue with confusion (1.07). Rewards are apparently tied to enemies combat rating and when you cast confusion that combat rating drops a lot. This means that when you cast confusion on the enemy and kill it while confusion is in effect, you will get less gildar/experience as a reward.

I have a 256 GB Crucial SSD and I'm quite pleased with it. If you want some sick speeds from your SSD drives, it's better to get several smaller ones (40-60 GB) and merge them in the RAID field. This is where they truly shine. OFC with the number of disks in the RAID increases chance of disk failure and losing ALL the date in those disks. Just started using this mod. Not far into game and saw only a hanfull of basic weapons so far, but even so, they enrich game greatly. It really ads tactics to tactical combat. And since AI uses it too, I don't feel like cheating at all.
