Stereotyping sure is fun. Is this a troll, or a serious reply? If its a troll, good job, people bit. If its serious... WTF? I think we can do better in games then having everything broken down into "the hero", "the vi

It's not released for the superior PC yet. They want the PC version to be superior with more content and takes some time. The site admin said on 2 Oct that next week would have an announcement but its been 2 weeks now and no announcement...hopefully it's not far.

My suggestions are based on balance, realism be damned. And as I have never played a Civ game except Civ 2 The Test of Time for 30min I got no influence from that IMO boring gameseries. Resourcesystem The basic resources (like Wood & Ore in HoMM) could generate automatically at a very low rate. Every other resource you'd have to mine/trade/steal though. This would allow you to build, produce a
I like situations where you have interesting choices and small "minigames" within a game. I think that there should be situations where you need quality and situations where you need quantity. Examples: If the battle engine simulates that each unit gets to do something in a round, then the opposition will determine if you need quality or quantity in you army. 1. I'm a firm believer in that quantity must have great advantages. If you think about Age of Wonders II Shadow Magic f.e. then quality soundly beated quantity. Higher lvl troops have more life, defense, resistance and damage potential. And upkeep wasn't an issue since a lvl 3 unit cost the same as two lvl 1 units....it was a broken system.... Since I like RTS and would slap you TBS guys silly in those [e digicons]^_^[/e] I think in terms of WarCraft 3 and imagin

Horrible idea. Like in WarCraft 3 if I kill the main enemy hero and half the army then all of a sudden two tier three melee units come from thin air and join him....sure it keeps the challenge up but it will become a total bore since you're not rewarded for your conquests. And a anti-steamroller effect based on armysize is also horrible since it will slow down the game....it will become like WarCraft 3 where people use 49population to avoid low upkeep until lategame whe

The pics are strange since the trees on the hills are there on one pic but not the other...and the no HDR pic got graphic artifacts or something. So no HDR is gone.... But they do look really similar. I really like the top pic with its dark scene. Heh, I really don't got the patience to compare pics like this.

I feel negative towards this family diplomacy thing. The only TBS games I've played that had diplomacy in them were Age of Wonders I, II and Shadow Magic so deep/complex diplomacy sound like a blackhole of exploits. It will also prolong the game and make it less arcadey as Age of Wonders were.

Removing the tedium of designing new units a la GalCiv 2 MUST be done! It can also make non TBS people play Elemental just like non-adventure people gotted Resident Evil 4 & 5 and non-RPG people gotted Elder Scrolls 4 and Fallout 3.
You're assuming the 'cannon fodder' units are the ones that get the experience
So only heroes and the sovereign can get XP? I support that. Will keep me from being careful with my units.

That can lead to turtling (which is boring and must be abolished.)

When I first saw that unitpic I immediately thought "Master of Magic units!" But then I remembered that you can create as big squads as you want....and I wonder about the XP system. What happens if you combine a 10 man squad with 900 XP and a 100 man squad with 200 XP? And if we have a single unit that kills a creature worth 10 XP, he gets 10 XP I presume? What if a squad with 10 guys kills that same creature?&nbsp

AMD also tries to make their new cpus work in older motherboards which is a great move. Intel though, you have to change the motherboard every time you upgrade to a new generation.... The AMD Phenom II is more costeffective then iCore 7 and it has been like that since the 1700+ days or so. If an AMD Phenom II gives (just a simple example) 10 in performance for 100$ then an iCore 7 gives 15 in performance for 200$.
Imagine playing Galactic Civilizations or Supreme Commander or Sins of a Solar Empire purely from the zoomed out strategic map.
Oh HELL NO! I watched a game of Supreme Commander from the winning guys side (who zoomed out to the maximum) and it was so boring to watch that I knew that it would never become spectatorfriendly if the strategic map was allowed to be used. So does this mean that Elemental won't have cinematics like World of WarCraft: Wrath of the Lich King where there comes a new trailer every 6 months or so?? You can easily buy the best from the previous generation (Intel Core 2 Duo E8400, 2x4850, 2x2GB DDR2) but today I would recommend AMD Phenom II. The motherboard however, should support the next generations cpus so you don't have to shell out money for a new motherboard (like me who got the E8400 and have to switch motherboard if I want to use the iCore). Everything else has already been covered. Buying parts individually and assembling them yourself/let a friend is the

The more powerful you get, the more the AI pushes back against you to attempt to slow down your momentum. But the AI's push is likely to simply lead to endless war. You will either A: Perish at the hands of your status quo loving nieghbors or B: tear through them, becoming larger and thus a greater threat to more people.
So the player will either A: Lose or B: Win

Perhaps this should be the point in the discussion where we bring up the difficulty slider. Most of the ideas I've given can easily be incorporated into the difficulty setting of the game. Personally, I want to play the hardest game possible without having the AI outright given freebies, knowledge and capabilities the p
