@Attila44 You are offcourse aware about a little program "msconfig" to disable any startup programs one has either set in the registry or in the start up folders ? As for people brown nosing, the first people asked what process you were refering to and you failed to answer that (Begins with SD is not really a good answer if you don't know what other programs other users could have running) Others told you how easy it is to turn it off, you failed to notice that (as indica

If you're talking about SDMCP.exe see this http://www.liutilities.com/products/wintaskspro/processlibrary/SDMCP/ It's the only task I have beginning with SD~ all others are acounted for. If it's not SDMCP then give us the name of the exe you have. Otherwise you're spreading BS And before you acuse anybody, use google to find out what a programs does or doesn't do. http:/

Influence starbase should be build near the planets you want not on the border. If you select the starbase you see it's area of effect. If there aren't any planets in it's area of effect it's pretty useless.

Look for my documents\ My Games \GalCiv2 they should be there (unless you're on 98/ME) Otherwise search for the name of the save games with the .sav extension ie; AutoSave.sav or PreviousAutoSave.sav

AFAIK, the newer/more advanced guns are smaller and 2 of them have more power then 1 Nano ripper while taking less space. Something like ; 1 gun 15 space 8 damage 2 guns10 space 10 damage

I think that this bit is a bit confusing or causing confusion; The Bonus Pack everyone gets. It's a series of minor updates, tweaks, and new content that we came up with while we waited for the stores to get their copies. If you download 1.0D then you have the Bonus Pack. There will be a seperate thread that explains what's in the Bonus Pack. The Co

You look to be confusing "Microsoft" and "PC". Let alone the fact that Windows isn't really better than OS X (besides running on non-proprietary hardware, which is its huge selling point). Macs are still perfectly reasonable for many people because the operating system is more stable, it has a nice GUI, it's UNIX-based, it's secure -- due partly to being UNIXy and partly o

There is Microsoft Virtual PC which is not well-suited for games on PowerPC Macs. On Intel-based Macs a native version of Virtual PC (which Microsoft announced) would certainly be fast enough, and Wine might also work. However, I don't have an Intel-based Mac, don't know when I might buy one, and wouldn't want to run non-native games. <

in regards to #23, Theres no way a Mac can run a windows game?? No windows emulator ? Nada? Never say never, but a emulating a Windows DX9 game on a non x86 Mac (A PowerPC) is going to to very difficult in regards to emulating a X86 CPU. It might be possible to do it on a X86 Mac, but https://www.galciv2.com/Journals.aspx?AID=94535

Or.. edit the CurrentCustomRace.raceconfig in My Documents\My Games\GalCiv2, look for something like 10 or 10 and pump it up to 100000 ... You'll never go bankrupt again... (Still, be carefull with setting research or manufacturing to high as that will make you go in the red...

Doesn't sound to bad. The Gravity beam line might be a bit "overpowered" tho, just put a few of those on a ship with some defences and ignore all other weapons. The winner is the one who can fit the most Gravity beams on 1 ship. (The ones with the biggest hull and most miniturisation (??SP??). As a side note, and to late perhaps to do anything with it, would it be possible to make the research more reliable on more then the previos tech ? <

Yep, see here https://www.galciv2.com/Journals.aspx?AID=87504 You can use the tool in the above link to make the exe default to using only 1 core I also noticed that the rotating is a bit more jerky with using 1 core tho that could be me.

For the first time I tried to leave the UP. The game crashes right after I click yes on the "Are you sure" dialog. For those celebrating; Merry Xmas
