This is a lost cause, folks. To steal an idea I read somewhere...you can't reason a person out of a position that they didn't reason themselves into. Go on thinking Stardock is stupid for not allowing Sins on Steam. And go on not playing the game. We'll be here when/if you finally come around.
Domination is the Rapture Battlecruiser's level 6 ability. The Revelation's level 6 ability is Provoke Hysteria, which drops a planet's health by 40% of its max and its population by 40% of its max over a time period of 40 seconds.
Woops! I always get those two mixed up. Of course I'm talking about the Rapture here. Thanks for the other info, guys. Any recommendations of what I should be stea
So, last night I started using the lvl 6 ability for my Revelation to augment my fleet. I was picking up Hoshikos and Kodiacs and that other support cruiser of theirs (forgot the name). And I was wondering if the abilities of those ships come with them. Meaning, for example, the Advent Guardian has that ability to disperse heavy cruisers--an ability that comes after 6 (7?) Temples of Hostility. So, for a while, I'm running Guardians without that ability, so if someone
Hey guys. I registered a week or so ago, but haven't posted anything on my Lore yet. Still working on it. Should I make a my own seperate post in the Council section, or should I post it in an "already made" thread there? Do I assign myself a rank within the Lore Structure that is posted in the Lore section? Or will you do that? Again, sorry I've been a slacker on posting something there. Hopefully I can get it done this week. :)
Your loss. I really don't see the problem. Download Impulse, purchase and download Sins and the expansion and makes sure to put an icon on your desktop. Close Impulse. Play Sins and never have to open Impulse again (until you need an update). It's not like you have to sell your soul to Impulse in order to play Sins.
Come up with lore for my character? Done and done! This task will occupy my time for the rest of my work day! :) Heading to the forums now...
Just stumbled across this post (series of posts)...great idea! I have been playing Sins for about 2 months or so now and I am interested in joining the Illumina faction. Do I just need to register at their forums? Unfortunately, I play in Japan Standard Time wihich is way out of whack from the mostly US playtimes. I hope that won:t be too much of a problem.
This is a great guide for new folks coming in. Espeically folks like myself who are completely new to the whole multiplayer thing. The coupld of times I've played online I've had some good team-mates that have helped me figure out what I was doing...though I ended up doing that pretty badly. I'll learn eventually. :D Thanks for this!
I think it depends on the situation and what you need. I try not to build too many caps since people just focus fire on them and take them down most of the time. But if you have a good Advent battle ball going, I'd probably go (1) Progenitor, (2) Halcyon, (3) Halcyon or Progenitor, (4) Halcyon or Progenitor (whichever I didn't take at #3). Maybe then I'd do a Radiance (whichever one has the domination abili
Hey folks. :) Just looking for some ideas on how you guys tend to spit out your Advent cap ships in the early and mid game. Right now I'm playing on large maps with 3 stars, so the games go pretty long. I'm also playing on normal AI, but will probably try and make the jump up to hard sometime soon. This is mostly just for Advent (I know, I know, I should play the other races too, but for some reason every time I start a game, I click on Advent with the vow to "choose
I'll also throw my support in for the updates. Of course it's frustrating (and kinda funny) to go back and see all the "such and such will be working tomorrow" posts over and over again, but I also understand how challenging getting sthis stuff to work right for everyone is. Keep up the journals. This company's relationship with its userbase is what other game companies should aspire to.
Hey guys. Sorry I've been away for a bit. Had that tourny this past weekend and for the past few days have been rather busy in the evening so had no time to play games. Hopefully in the next couple of days I can get on and meet up with you all. I'm sure you've all become pros now with all those days of practice! :D
Welcome, kons45. I too am pretty psyched with the growing community we got here on this side of the world. Lots of good and friendly players. Hopefully I'll see ya in game soon (not this weekend, though since I'm off to a soccer tournament :)).
I'll try and get on tonight and meet up with you guys for a game. Last night I played a bit of single player, working with TB rather than Sedna. Went alright. Do you guys find that Skirmish is much harder than Tournament? Anyway, hopefully see y'all tonight. BTW, what's Singapore time compared with Japan Standard Time? Same? 1 hour behind? 2?
Singaporean Player also mostly on custom games. Online abt 9-10 pm or whether some ppl have bathed or not . Weekdays have to see if friends are online such as Playdoh, th15 or Streyt
Regulus! I think you killed me about 3 or 4 times last night! :D
Cool. Could you send me a PM with their names so I can add them to my friends list too? Definitely agree with ya on the signs of a good game. So far I've spent the past 3 or 4 months thinking of GalCiv II, Civ IV, Sins and now Demigod. I think I've got my summer gaming schedule covered!
It's funny, I went to bed thinking about things we could have done better! It seems like Demigod is going to be like Sins of a Solar Empire for me in that respect...thinking of strats and ideas while at work or while running or when I should be thinking of more important things! ;) Were all the players regular Asian Game players? All around the Singapore or Japan time zones? Cause they all seemed like a nice group of players that I'd like to play in some more games.
Thanks for the game last night, playdoh! It was fun. I think I'm starting to get the hang of things. Hopefully there will be less dying next time. :)
A few koreans playing, but not much competition really. >. Ha! Yeah right...says the top ranked player on the Tourny page! ;) Please don't kill me in game! No probs, Playdoh...I added you as well. Not sure if you'll see me very soon in Multiplayer, though. I'm a slow learner.
Hey CitezenKane2. Not in Singapore, but I'm playing from Japan, so our times are somewhat similar...if off by a few hours. Haven't tried Multiplayer yet, cause I'm still trying to get the hang of the game (this is not my usual style of game, and I've never played games much like it), but hopefully see ya online once I do. If you're good at Demigod, then you can give me a bunch of pointers! :)
Something I meant to mention earlier is that the best players are the ones that can keep their emotions under wraps and cooly and calmly handle their problems in-game. Nothing helps the avalanche that can be getting behind in this game more than getting over-agressive because you start caring more about taking out the one who killed you. And further, the most fun players to play against are the ones who are good-natured and r
Damn you Frogboy, Gas Powered Games, and Stardock...you did it. All your talking and stories and videos and pics and info pushed me over the edge. You made me purchase Demigod. I hope you're happy with yourselves. :) Luckly my wife is in the next room, so that she doesn't see the Impulse screen up and downloading. She'd be suspicious even with it minimized in the tray. Hopefully it'll get done by the time she gets back. I will have trouble exp
Hello Frogboy. I humbly request that you stop giving updates on Demigod. Your enthusiasm for the game and the great things I've read and seen online about it are making me want to buy it. And if I do, I will not be able to devote time in my life to other important things like wife, work, and Sins of a Solar Empire (and GalCiv and CivIV). Please, stop. Thank you, mwdowns :D
Depends, on AI games I find the Radiance to be the best starter. It cleans systems much faster than the mother ship. Usually, while the mother is still capping its first planet I could be finished cleaning my second planet if I had taken a Radiance instead. I find the Radiance particularly useful on larger maps. When I get out way ahead and start running into the enemy's forward force on a mother, I'm dragging a couple beat up
If I could get in a complaint about minefields here as well... :) Saw this in a game yesterday: lone light frigate flies through the middle of the minefield and about 7 mines follow it along. The first explosion pretty much does the craft in, but all seven then decide to finish it off. 7 mines for a single craft. Seems a bit of a waste.
