I encountered a minor issue when installing FE Beta 4 for the first time. When installing to a different drive besides C:, the shortcut in the Games folder for some reason tries to launch something from C:. This is despite the fact that the \ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\GameExplorer\{guid}\PlayTasks\0\Play shortcut points to the right drive (F:) and that shortcut will run the game properly. Also the shortcut in Stardock Games from the Start Menu works fine. I coul

Well stated, Wintersong. More options, especially such large-ranging ones, might make it harder to develop good AI.

I'm getting some serious anxiety problems about it right now.
Maybe take a break a bit and check in every couple of days? Fire up some old game you like a lot and get lost in the gameplay of that until the next break. At least you didn't order a Pandora! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/OpenPandora#Development_history (Hope to get mine this year.)
FYI, it's not too early to think about mods. I've already been toying with ideas for full conversions of the Talisman, Descent, and Runebound board games.
Interesting idea. When you state "full conversions", do you mean to actually play the board games within Elemental? I'm assuming not, but otherwise not sure what you mean by "full conversions". And it would be more interesting if you did not mean

I'm sort of glad I did not get into the Alpha, since I'm pretty busy with other stuff and would prefer more dedicated testers than me. It would have been cool, but I can wait for Beta.

Re: MOM bugs: My most memorable bug was the one where, once you finished playing, if you ran any DOS commands afterwards, your hard drive FAT would be scrambled due to them messing with the COMMAND.COM. I ended up creating a new partition just for SimTex games, named "SIMTEX_SUX". (Still, I did buy all their games!) Also, correct me if I'm wrong, please, but didn't MOM run in 320x200?

I own way too many board games with not enough time to play them. At least as long as I keep my job. :-O If you intend on looking into any board games, be sure to check out the BoardGameGeek website. For really good video reviews and brief explanations of how to play certain games, check out Board Games With Scott.

At weekly board game night tonight I showed up styling my new sporty E:WOM shirt sent to me by landisaurus (thank you). It was well received. Most folks remembered me talking about Elemental before. One person hated MOM so that analogy did not help for him. I didn't get any pictures but will try next time I go out with it. We played "Small World" which just came out. A remake of the game Vinci, which is one of my favorites. Had a fun time. The chang

The only exception of course being if battles last longer than 1 strategic game-turn. But I call those "wars". How could you have a hard time imagining it? You just described an example of exactly that in Titan... And to name yet another example (or two), HoMM an

To continue (badly) the spin-off from HOMM, the MM 5/6/7 games let you toggle between real-time and turn-based. It worked in some ways and did not work in others. It will be interesting to see what Stardock does for this. I have a hard time imagining how you could ever play a strategic multi-player game where you have any sort of interaction during battles. When I first heard (re-heard actually) of E:WOM, I ended up sending an email to all my buddies about it and also DemiGod (although I haven't had much chance to beta that yet). Here's the text, and I apologize in advance for any misrepresentations and IP issues. It was a private email. But this contest is making me prove my efforts. :-) From my email: In case any of you are fans of the old game Master Of Magic, you should chec
