Thanks, I never thought of that! I'll do that with the next duplicate I come across.

The weird thing is that the wandering hero's portrait is identical to your hired hero's so you can't tell them apart (they show the same gear). I would never hire a duplicate, it would be too confusing for my brain.
when a horse is equipped. This shows portraits with the horse equipped but not showing in the portrait - which I like. This picture is after the game is loaded and the game automatically equips the horse in the portraits (doesn't save the portrait), which I don't like. [e digicons][/e] I'm so glad other people are posting about portrait bugs.
Another ctd after the research screen came up. File includes 2 autosaves and debug. http://dl.dropbox.com/u/16872572/m%20research%20debug.zip
I found this band of adventurers in the wild, one of them with a blank portrait. I saw them again later, and Lisera's portrait was correct. http://dl.dropbox.com/u/16872572/no%20portrait%20debug.err
I saw the dog also, in 1.19L. I really hated to have to kill it. Haven't seen the other stuff in m yet but it looks awesome.
oom when research screen came up. Save and debug in zip. http://dl.dropbox.com/u/16872572/research%20debug.zip
New game playing as Pariden rather than a custom faction. Had a few battles in the beginning of the game that didn't respond to commands and had to autoplay to get out of it. Haven't experienced that in quite a while playing as a custom faction, don't know if the faction has anything to do with it. The crash was not an oom, it was a ctd. Was just walking around the map and it crashed. http://dl.dropbox.com/u/16872572/ctd%20debug.zip
This oom was after a quick resolve battle. The level up screen came up twice and crashed on the second time. Previous Autosave, autosave and debug included in zip. No dmp file. http://dl.dropbox.com/u/16872572/level%20up%20debug.zip Another bug is when horses are equipped on the champion, the game is not saving the portrait between games. It automatically puts the champion on the horse in the portrait (it was saved off the horse) when a save is loaded. It's hard to tell wh
The game ctd with an oom message after the tech screen came up (I didn't have a chance to select a tech). No dmp file. Debug and autosave in zip. I am getting less frequent crashes - although this save is from the beginning of the game it lasted until turn 178 without a crash. Will see how it goes as I get deeper into the game. http://dl.dropbox.com/u/16872572/tech%20debug.zip Also, in the last 2 versions, "use mods" is automatically selected when you start
After Porcupine destroyed my Lost Library, it looked like she was going to attack Aharlav single-handedly, so I had to destroy her and her faction. She still had 2 cities remaining with soldiers, so there was no need for her to do this. This shows what is left of her faction right before her sui
I posted about this I believe during the 1.1 betas. I haven't seen a caster use it (or any spell) in the 1.2 betas, so haven't seen the problem since then. I was hoping it was fixed. [e digicons]X([/e]
Great! I'm so glad to hear that you found the cause of the ooms. Even more exciting if you can fix it this week - I can't wait for the 1.3 betas!
2 more ooms, files include autosave and debug. This one on the save after the research screen came up. http://dl.dropbox.com/u/16872572/research%20oom.zip This one on save after designing new units and retiring others. http://dl.dropbox.com/u/16872572/design%20units%20debug.zip
The game went to 119 turns before the oom during autosave, which is amazing. No dmp file and sorry, I was in shock so I forgot to save the autosave. [e digicons][/e] http://dl.dropbox.com/u/16872572/save%20debug.err Also, sometimes the game doesn't remember party enchantments on restart. I've seen this for mobility since that is what I mostly use. It is haphazard; if you have say 4 heroes with mobility cast on them, when you restart the game, som
This time I went to the character portrait window after trading armor rather than going to the store. The game still slowed down to a crawl on that screen and crashed on the manual save right after. I thought it was going to crash on the portrait screen because it slowed down as much as it did last time but it pulled through this time. The file includes bebug, dmp, and autosave. http://dl.dropbox.com
This one was also after buying some equipment for 1 champ and equipping him. I opened the character portrait window to save the changes and the game slowed down to a crawl. Then I heard a loud crack, the game crashed out to windows (usually it just locks up) with an oom message. I jumped a little when I heard that noise, it was a little scary! Since I've been having problems with the portraits, I haven't been changing them unless it's absolutely necessary and this was the only tim
This crash took longer, I think because I didn't do what I usually do, which is to take 8 heroes off their horses, save the portraits, then put them back on the horses again (when you load a game, the portraits aren't saved from the previous game if a horse is equipped). The game did crash when I shopped for my son, then clicked to edit his portrait - and the screen went black. The debug file and autosave is included in the zip. http://dl.dropbox.com/u/16872572/b
Here's another one after about 2 turns. Maybe one of the saves from way back was corrupted? The debug files look weird. Zip includes debug and autosave. http://dl.dropbox.com/u/16872572/2%20turn%20debug.zip
These are from around 200 turns, crashes are getting closer together. Both include debug and autosave (no mods). The 1st one happened on the save after shopping for equipment (and probably changing portrait) - http://dl.dropbox.com/u/16872572/oom%20debug.zip This one was a few turns later when the game tried to save after choosing spells from the spell book - http://dl.dropbox.com/u/16872572/spell%20book%20debug.zip
I lost all the normal background music around the time I researched light plate armor. I reinstalled the game but there was no change. When I went to war, the war music was there. Also, the music that plays when you go to the option screen was always there. The music is back again now but as you can see in the debug file, it couldn't find the music files (it also includes an oom crash). http://dl.dropbox.com/u/16872572/no%20music%20debug.err This debug is from later in th
Once you get to a 3rd line of units, the buttons become blank. If you delete some units and have only 2 rows, the buttons are still blank. When creating units and on some already created units, there is a lot of transfer of portraits. This might occur when creating a new unit, as it seems that a unit that was fine will look like another unit after creating one that has a transferred portrait. Also, a few times I've clicked on a caravan and the unit below was put in the build stack (I know
Zip includes debug, autosave and prior autosave. Autosave is from before battle. No mods. http://dl.dropbox.com/u/16872572/save%20crash%20after%20battle.zip There have been quite a few battles where one of the heroes could not attack, while others could. Mostly problems with the hero that has crushing blow as a description (sorry, can't remember his name, but he's in the save - the one who starts off with the blue hat). Some battles would lock up and had to be autores
I had the same problem. I think it was from an old datazip.exe file, dated 12/2001 (I was getting errors in my debug file so I checked it). I reinstalled the game and have awesome new music now. The datazip.exe file is in the stardockgame/elemental directory. It seems the date of the file is the date of your last installation and it doesn't get updated with patches. It may not have anything to do with the datazip file but the reinstall did do the trick.
