Providing that link to an example of where individuals could download Galactic Civilizations II looked like a direct attempt to persuade game devlopers (and in particular stardock, piggy backing off GC2's recent unexpected commercial success story) to use and promote starforce copy protection software. This kind of underhanded tactic at promoting the sales of a commercial product should not be stood for. The other obvious reason is that stardocks ideology of dealing with the problem

Alternatively you can purchase the upgrade whilst a ship is in space (it will be out of commision for a week or two whilst upgrading itself) for a number of credits. Or when you have performed an update to an existing design, after asking you to save the new design over the existing one you will get an oppituinty to upgrade all existing ships of that design that you own for a (usually very large number if you have several ships) number of credits.

Not quite sure how you went from illegally stealing games to talking about Empires At War. Bad nasty people buy games. Interesting people talking about diplomacy, based in the star wars universe, when did the Empire have anything other to say to rebels than "Die rebel scum"? So thats why theres no diplomacy. And what would you do in diplomacy anyway? Ask for a cease fire? cmon. Some people are bashing a game, that despite being in the star wars franchise they s

*cough*powerusertv*cough* *Cough*suckup*cough* Although i give credit where credits due, and cutscenes in games have been cut back on in recent years in favour of other things. Im also glad gal civ 1's cutscenes were kept, looking a bit dated, but the game wouldnt be quite what it is without them.

If a planet has, for example a 50% bonus in starship quality. What exaclty does that effect in ship attributes. Do ships constructed at that planet (not the entire empire) have 50% more HP? Or does it effect other ship attributes, if so what?

I cant see any gripes with having to install stardock central on any pc, its not 3rd party software, its made by the same guys who make the games, so if you have trust issues with that particular application (only reason i can see why i wouldnt want to have a measly insignificant 15mb install put on my pc) then you wont be buying the game anyway. And its obvious that they need to confirm your identity somehow in order to verify that you are the individual that purchased the game and

A , I really cant see myself playing online, epecialy when the AI is a formidable opponent. But it would really put me off purchasing the expansion if the main emphasis is multiplayer with a few new maps and ship components chucked in for good measure to detract away from this.

Core designs are there so the player doesnt have to design his own ships if he doesnt want to, with large leaps on through the tech tree, larger ships and more advanced weaponry becomes available. These pre-built ships are available from scout to battleship. So your not forced into designing anything (of if you havnt grasped the concept of what makes an excellent ship, being a scout, troop transport, heavy fighter or all out battleship). Even if you couldnt create your own battleship

Drawing from an existing game innovation seems to be a double edged sword in the world of game development. As seen by the consumers that if a feature from one strategy game is so popular with the fans that it becomes a 'must have' feature in the ongoing strategy genre. For example, left click to select a unit and right click on an item (say an enemy unit) for it to perform an attack action. This wasnt always the way strategy games were. The point is that if you dont copy to some extent the good
