Art is whatever whoever is looking at whatever deems to be whatever they see whatever to be, not in whoever's eyes, but their own. ie. The pile of clean clothes on my floor could be art, but I'm pretty sure that I'm just being lazy. I reference the simpson's episode where homer botches a grill, and creates junk... err art.

I was under the impression that this wasnt another disucssion on which app it better - any sane person could tell that from 5 minutes using each. That's no rocket science I had thought you were looking for suggestions and feedback on why Konfabulator may have more 'market appeal' as it were.

Well if its simply a marketing thing... Rebrand the bugger with a name that people just *have* to find out about. Send out some free widgets to major companies which have huge media exposure, both in the stand alone exe format and bundled with the installer - to show off what it can do. It seems to me that Konflubulator's media exposure more comes from word of mouth and curiosity about what in the heck the name means... I know that's

Smoking pot while driving increases your ability to focus... ... on the yellow lines in the middle of the road, as you watch them pass by in amazement. And yes. I have done that. And yes. If you honestly belive that pot, or any other type of narcotic doesnt affect your ability to drive, then I would guess that you've smoked far too much already, or you *really really* enjoy living in fantasy land. I'm astounded that with al

Just for the moment (har har) lets say that I'm some lunatic out to destroy my body with as many pyscotropic drugs as possible (because I'm not really, but I support the following views)... I'm a moderate american. I support the right to trash my body however I see fit. Because, after all, I own my body. Americans are allowed to eat fast food until they explode. Americans are allowed to destroy their lungs and livers as they see fit. We're als

So I just fired up WB here for the first time in years. Im bummed out to find that there arent any WB skins which accurately emulate the BeOS interface. (after searching the archive, of course) I'm a big fan of it, big big fan. Im talking emulation down to the placement of the scrollbar arrows. I know that can be done, as I can see with some of the newer skins coming out. So does one exist? Would anyone enjoy creating one? (admittedl

Was actually going to make use of the shellscape.org domain for something like this... Make sure you take a look at modblog.com and livejournal.com. LJ has something especially nice, with the ability to create and accept members into groups. The kids up here seem to enjoy that quite a lot. Template creation would definately attrack a more graphically savvy element.

Welcome to the world of Windows software development ScottK. We're much more critical of the apps we use, and the defects within them. For a pay-for-application, I expect a much higher degree of quality. We already pay to beta test windows (isnt that what we're all essentially doing?) - so why should one pay yet again for an app that has such obvious problems?

Running all default widgets, as it came out of the box (install) I totalle 72 mb working set, and 56 mb VM ( I didnt even bother checking the page file). Color me unimpressed and all, but im sure you could run seperate apps for each of those widgets and use less resources. Has anyone even bothered to look at the other resource objects which an app uses on windows? Each widget is using NO LESS than 65 Handles, 28 GDI Objects and 5 threads. WHAT

What would REALLY be keen is if it was written so that it didnt use a 'fake' desktop window. So that programs which like to set HWND_BOTTOM dont have to wrestle with it

*appluads this entire blog entry* This must be the only place on the net where logical, political-savvy and media-uneffected people come to post. Good job dead'er. Pretty damned refreshing to find im not the only anti-kerry geek out there.
