I don't want to be a killjoy, but in my store I see two entries referring to ObjectDock. One is titled "ObjectDock Plus (ODNT Discount)" with one downloadable content: "ObjectDockPlus_190.exe" The other one is titled "ObjectDock Plus v2 Upgrade" with two downloadable programs: "ObjectDock_2.10_setup.exe" and "ObjectDockPlus_2.01_s

I notice that "Fences Settings" appears twice in Start-up (via Task Manager). After some digging I found 2 entries that start Fences Settings: a. HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run (in the registry) b. C:\Users\ \AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Startup Both start "c:\program files (x86)\stardock\fences\fences.exe", but the registry entry has a parameter "/startup". Is this intended? <p

Is this a known issue? When the desktop is displayed, e.g. with Win+D, I cannot select a folder portal or items within using the keyboard, e.g. with the arrow keys. Selecting icons within "normal" fences is no problem. For a keyboard die hard like me it is frustrating to reach for the mouse to do the same. Rgrds.

Currently the fence labels are centered. There is no option to left- or right align. If the fences are ligned up vertically having the title labels also lined up, I think the desktop looks prettier. No big deal, no functional improvement, just a nice to have. Kind Regards.

A few days back I received an email from Stardock introducing Fences 2.0. Although I wasn't too exited about the new features (see note), I decided to give it a try. I already use Fences Pro as part of my long running Object Desktop subscription. So I went to the Store, clicked on My Downloads, downloaded Fences 2.0 and installed it. Quite an adventure that was! Actually, it's still going on. To be honest I have to blame myself, because I ignored signs that "upgrading"

Stardock has a history of distributing their software by means of a desktop application (SDC, Impulse). The latest seems to be a software incarnation of SDC, undoubtedly better than ever. After the demise of Impulse I began to use the Store. I'm not particularly fond of using apps in the cloud, but I started thinking of the added value of using a propriety software manager on the desktop. The features of SDC according to Startdock are: <li lang

[quote who="Annatar11" comment="1"]It's worth noting that the archives created this way are specific to the OS on which they were created. So, if you made an archive on Vista, you can't install from it on XP, and vice versa. The Impulse Anywhere archives should be independent of OS and can be installed on either.[/quote]] Indeed good to know. As you said the archives should be OS independent, but do you know a way to make them independent

Thanks! I've seen that page of course, but didn't know these features where exclusive to the plus version. Kind Regards.

Hi, Can someone please explain the difference between the free version and the not-free enhanced version (aka CursorXP Plus)? I already know that you have to pay for the Plus version Thanks!

I changed a number of folder icons with the standard folder properties dialog (tab Customize). Now I want to change the default folder icons with IP. When I apply a package do I retain the folder icons I changed previously? These folder icons are specified in a hidden file called Desktop.ini. I surely hope that I don't have to reapply all the changes I've made to the individual folders. In addition can I package individual folder icons? If that's possible, then I could use that feature

On my system all Object Desktop components (e.g. IP) are maintained by SDC; not through the standard Add/Remove programs in the Control Panel. I'm not aware of a situation that you can use the standard Control Panel to (un)install OD components; maybe if you buy and install components separately - I can't tell.

Ok, I followed your advice and it is working now. But not w/o a hassle! The uninstall didn't work via the SDC. So, I looked around the forum to see if others had bad experiences with uninstalling IP and found a utility called The Zapper. That did the trick. I re-installed IP via SDC and it asked me to start IP right away. I answered Yes, but nothing happened. I looked wich processes were running and I found multiple instances of IP running. Probably instances left behind when I tried to unin

IP (version 3.20.128) stops responding as soon as I click the Control Panel button in the Icons and Cursors panel. The only way out is to kill IP. The other buttons on that pane are working just fine. Any ideas? Thanks. OS: Windows XP Pro (up-to-date)

Makes sense. By the way, the uninstall procedure didn't perform the way I expected. First there was no seperate entry for the free version in the standard add/remove programs dialog. Secondly, clicking on the OD+ entry didn't do anything at all. So, I started the unwise.exe program in the program folder itself. I opted for the automatic uninstall. That didn't remove everything, so I manually deleted the remainder. Luckily, the install via SDC went smoothly. Hopefully, from now on upgrading v

Hi! Today I bought OD+ and installed it immediately. I had the free version installed beforehand and didn't bother to uninstall it first. After installing OD+ it turned out that my settings of the free version were gone. Unfortunately the installation program gave no warning. Is there anything else I should be aware of? Is it a good idea to uninstall/reinstall OD+ to have a clean installation? My old settings are gone anyway so that won't hurt anymore. Thanks!

I'm afraid there's no way to change the orientation through the Theme Editor. But there is a way to do it manually. Close/Unload ObjectBar; Open the bar's configuration file (extension obbar) in notepad (or any other editor); - e.g. c:\program files\stardock\object desktop\objectbar\[theme]\bars\[bar].obbar Change: DisplayVertically to 1 (was 0) - this option is found in section [object] I tried it myself and it worked, but no guarantees. The final result, I th

Correction: Unfortunately, the poweruser tip doesn't work. It was too good to be true. With the theme editor in previous releases you could define a desktop menu that would appear after clicking the right mouse button on the desktop. This functionality has now been removed from the theme editor. When it was still working the theme editor created 2 lines at the bottom of an obtheme file (just a plain text file) e.g.: [DesktopRightClickBars] Bar#1=ContextMen

I cannot find a way to move elements or groups across bars and menus using the theme editor. E.g. I have a fairly large pop-up menu I want to move to another menu. It would take quite some time recreating this menu in another menu. I also tried "drag-and-drop", but that doesn't work in fly-out menus. Regards.
