Windows 7 Professional 64-bit Intel Core 2 Duo 2.53G 4GB RAM NVIDIA GeForce 9400M Still getting OOM crashes multiple times per day.

So not only did the patch cause me to lose my 500+ turn game (which still makes no sense), but I'm still getting the OOM errors. Started a new game and within 10 turns it crashed. And I don't have an ATI card. Frustrating.
Quoting mbrown3, reply 2Dammit. No fix for the OOM crashes. Still unplayable for late games here. How can you have played a 5 hour game already? Try starting a new game instead of loading a savegame which was known to crash :/
5 hours? I have WAY more than 5 hours in my save game...over 500 turns. So, I'm supposed to lose all of that progress? The patch should fix the bugs in the actual game's code,

Figures...as soon as I post this, the update shows up! Downloading now. Here's hoping it solves the OOM issue...!
I'm on Win7 Pro 64-bit with 4GB ram, 2.53 Core 2 Duo, NVIDIA 9400M. To be fair, I didn't get very many crashes in the early game. But in a "late" game, I get it every other turn. Eagerly awaiting 1.08 to see if it addresses the issue. Thought it would be out today, but looks like not (still time yet, I guess, but doesn't look promising!).
OK, this is probably a crazy stupid question, but how do you cast spells? I've played about 10 games so far, some of them lasting into the hundreds of turns, had hundreds of battles, yet I just realized that I haven't yet cast a single spell, and can't figure out how to do so. It's probably very obvious, but I'm not seeing it. Also, I keep reading about teleporting, but how do you do that? Thanks...
How do you teleport?
I get them every 2 or 3 turns. Frustrating.
I'm now getting crashes with the "out of memory" bug every 2 or 3 turns...at least. Hopefully tomorrow's update will be released as scheduled and will address this issue!
My Elemental keeps crashing, with the message, "DX Error: Invalid Call". Any ideas of what this is related to, or how to fix it?
You're nuts. I keep getting my ass kicked, no matter what I do. I've finally gotten to a point where I've at least gotten a decent game going, but there are still times when my entire force gets obliterated in a single battle. Crazy stuff. I don't know how it's so easy for you. What settings are you using (I mean, what "race", attributes, etc.)?
Any news on the code issue? I want to buy the book, but want to get it on my Kindle. Really don't want to buy a paperback right now, as I'm just getting ready to move and don't need another physical item to pack and take. But I want to make sure I can get the code. Any updates on this?
Could you add info on how to create armies ("stack" units), etc.? I'm having trouble figuring out how to join units together, even just for exploring the map, as each time I send out a group of 3 or 4 units together, they get attacked and killed. I've tried it a bunch of different ways, but no matter how many units I "stack"/combine, eventually they run into an enemy that destroys them. I check through the "dummies" info, but maybe I'm more than a dummy (a moron, maybe? lol) and need more hel
I've tried clicking the mini map button in the top right, but nothing happens. Am I missing something? I toggle it on and off but no mini map ever shows up. Is this a bug?

I'm having the same issue. Not sure what the heck I'm supposed to do. Needs a tutorial badly. I've played a lot of 4x games, but find this pretty hard to figure out. I mean, I understand how to explore, upgrade cities, etc, but there's nothing that seems to indicate what strategies I should employ in order to be successful. In games like Civilization at least you can refer to the research chart to see what you're eventually moving towards. If nothing else, you build your technology so high th
Hmm...I set mine on novice to try to learn the game (as I'm not quite sure what I'm supposed to be doing), and I keep getting my ass kicked. Maybe they've got all the settings backwards? LOL.
Any news on the newest beta round? I didn't hear or receive anything yesterday about pre-order invitations, etc. It's not a big deal for me, as I'm happy to wait. But I'd like to help with the beta test, as someone who has beta tested at least 20 other programs in the past, including some pretty significant software. This would be my first beta program on a game, but that's one of the reasons I'd be interested in helping out. Still, if they're keeping the beta closed to prior entries, no prob
