1. Lots of big nasty summoned monsters that really mean something -- Great Wyrm, Great Drake, Colossus, Sky Drake.........and most of them are useful under some situations. 2.Combinations and Varieties. Buffing Death knights, Hydra, slinger, longbow men ..... simply rock. 3.Counter Spell. Invisibility vs True sight, Buff spell vs Dispel and Disenchant spells. I hate those AI that cast dispel spell that rip my super hero into kittie! (And that's where Spell Lock com
Each faction will definitely get its own spell book. The unique tech trees will ceom from their keep. I'll be talking about how tech works in Elemental in an upcoming journal entry because it's radically different than what you've seen in other games other than, to a point, MOO 1.
WoW, thanks for pigeon and frogboy! I think that've effectively eliminated my worry. [e digicons][/e] <p

It actually depends on how rare the special special creatures are. In most strategy games, no matter how powerful a creature is, you will see plenty of them in mid to late game, and far too often an uber hero can slaughter a dozen of them. If that's also the case in this coming game, I'd like to see some real monster that can compete the power of a high level hero, a real lengendary fight! Yes, shelob is cool!! :)

It would be cool if we can have some special and unique units other than heroes in this game. These legendary beasts should be more powerful than its kind, and like heroes, there should only be one for each of them. And they can be obtained by completing a quest, build a Wonder Building, triggered by an accidental event......etc. For example: Building a Portal of Nether World allow summon of Mephisto the Archdevil (of Demons and Devils), completing a dragon
Do every elf have to be a bow- or dual-wielding retard that lives in "the deep and mysterious forest", with inherent spellcasting?
Then does every pixie happen to be tiny and fragile? What if there happened to be some mutant fat fairies that is savage and possessing ogre strength? :D Or like you've mentioned, do knights have to wear heavy armors? Comparing to a regenerating boar-riding elf, it's simply a level of d
IMO the whole elf dwarf orc mix is stereotyped to the point of blandness. I guess at this point most of us are tired of bow using elves, axe using dwarves, evil orcs and regenerating trolls.
Sorry, but I kind of disagree here. Somewhat it's those stereo type that make a fantasy game what it is. That is not to say I am against the flexibilities. But what if we have boar-riding elves that regenerate, fire-breathing

Havn't played Alpha Centauri, but the Wonder building must be difficult to get and make you consider if it worthy to put resources into it when your enemy has rush their troops into your front door. I personally like what are implemented in Civ series, where wonder buildings are unique and located in various branches of tech trees. There, unless you are good enough(or the AI dummy enough), it's quite difficult to build all of them before your opponents. Of course the balance
Well, there is only one race humans with two flavors regular and fallen each having 6 factions that are all a bit different.
Well, thanks. But all human? Does that mean there is no elf, dwarf, orc, troll... units to produce? Doesn't sound too good.

I don't know if this has been mentioned, but Wonders proved to be a successful feature in Civ series. Could we build wonder buildings (that cost enormous resources) in this game that offer chanellers certain traits? For example, Jafar's Alchemist Lab would offer "alchemist trait" that can conver different crystals in a 1-1 rate. Fire to Air, water to earth...etc. The Great library (increaes research and offer random spells...), Summoner's Altar(reducce

Does unit customization mean race distinctions weaken? I mean we all have a stereo type sense that dwarf are good at axe, hammer; elves are good at bow, drows are good at magic from MoM1. I am not sure if it's a good thing if the unit customization could be extend to a level where the race might be irrelevant. Or am I worrying too much?
